I just survived 24 days on Don't Starve!!!!!!!

This is my best score yet and I did it with the crazy pyromaniac girl, Willow.

In the end, she starved to death, but I had found one of the magical respawn stones and she came back...and then promptly froze to death because I was NOT prepared for winter at all!!

I did learn that making friends with the pigs is a good idea because they can kill the spiders for me.

Now I need to go back to my game with Wilson, which I stopped at 20 days and hadn't gone back to. I played Willow to get my groove back, and I think I've got the hang of it again.

Tim just bought the game since it was on sale. We'll see how he does. :)

YAAAAAAY!
It is so exciting to break a record! I have died due to that respawning during winter thing many times. Whenever I find one of those I usually make a chest next to the respawn stone with stuff for a fire and a winter hat and heaty stone in there.

I have been meaning to play some more, but I have to go back into the caves (well, I want to go back into the caves) and I am afraiiiiiiid. o.o

But it's such a good halloween game, I need to play it.

I had a thermal stone but hadn't bothered to heat it up yet LOL. That is a brilliant idea putting the chest next to the respawn stone, I will definitely do that with the Wilson game I have going!

I was a little evil with Willow too as I freaked out one night and set the woods on fire when I ran out of campfire fuel. The next day, wild dogs attacked me LOL. But I had discovered the joy that is the tentacle spikes so I was able to defend myself for once. :) This really is the game that keeps on giving.

I just unlocked the Librarian Wickerbottom character LOL, so tempted to start a new game with her just because Librarian!

Do you know if the multiplayer made is DLC or just going to be part of the game? Wish I could have tried out the Beta but signups came and went already.

I have burned down my camp several times as Willow. I never learn not to go pick berries or grass or twigs or crops when my sanity is low.

I love Wickerbottom, but I am worried about surviving the winter with her. I wish I had a stupid golf hat of sanity on her game. Apparently winter makes you librarians crazy?

I LOVE TENTACLE SPIKES, one of my best games ever was a Wilson game where my camp was right next to a swamp, and there were merm houses like RIGHT THERE, and so every now and then I would just sweep through and collect all manner of awesome presents from a merm vs tentacle battle. I didn't have to do anything!

The multiplayer was going to be free and automatically added to the base game the last I heard!

It's so worth your $5.09 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/219740/) if only because it's so pretty and the music is quirky and fun.

There's another character that is a creepy girl who has a dead sister that comes out at night to play with her.

That's the best thing about this game. You know NOTHING. There are no instructions, no hover-text help, NOTHING. You're going to die a lot, but you learn more each time.

I'd suggest not reading guides or looking things up. Just experience the game! It's great fun.

My brother actually bought this game for me back when it first came out in 2013 (I think he might have been on a kickstarter for it or something) and I didn't play it for almost a year because of that same reason. I've never been good at Skyrim or Minecraft or sandbox games. Then for some reason a few month ago I started it up and it clicked with me. Once you realize that the only rule is Don't Starve, you just start messing around and you figure it out as you go. It's not mean to you, it paces itself to give you time before throwing any surprises at you.

and then you die in the winter and have to start over but it's okay! I've never really played a game like this before but Don't Starve is really good. Ugh, wish you could have played this weekend, it was totally free to try!!!

I hadn't played in awhile because Tim got me into the Final Fantasy MMO but I'd been itching to try again recently. I may have freaked out when the penguins randomly appeared! This game is so great because you just never know!
