We are all caught up on Parks and Rec now. OMG THE FEELS! I can't believe there are only 13 episodes left.

I have to say, those six seasons may have had a few rough spots. but overall it is a fantastic show. It's smart and funny and poignant and omg I am going to cry SO HARD when that finale airs for the same reason I was a mess when the Angel finale aired. I won't just be mourning the end of the show itself, but the end of a place a on TV where I felt I belonged, writers that got me. Are there any other shows on TV right now that are on the same wavelength???

I've been watching Gilmore Girls, then writing up discussion posts for [livejournal.com profile] re_viewings and then utterly failing to comment on my own posts!!! **sigh** But I really am enjoying being back in Stars Hollow. I keep meaning to get my thoughts down but...Xbox.

We started watching the anime Noragami, which is streaming on Netflix. It's about a "stray god" and his search to find some worshippers. It's relatively light, though you can sense a certain darkness waiting around the corner. I'm not a huge anime watcher but I'm really enjoying this one. We also started Kill la Kill last week but our friend Mathew wants to watch that with us, so we have to wait until Thursday to continue that one. It feels like the sibling of FLCL, though slightly more linear. ONLY slightly.

2015 is going to be an epic TV year. P&R finale, Justified finale, Hannibal returns, Community returns and, of course, Game of Thrones will be back!

Parks and Rec did have a few pitfalls (pun intended), but it always found its way back. I also love how they averted so many cliches when it came to wedding/baby episodes! Although I was kind of expecting for them to have Ron being the one screaming in the hospital, instead of Diane, because that seemed perfect to me. But I think how they handled it was even better.

Community's coming back, but I'm not sure how they'll do it with half the original cast gone now. Although I will say for a college show, there's something realistic about that. Probably the only realistic thing about that show. I went to community college AND a four year school (got my AA at the former, BA at the latter), and who I was friends with changed all the time as people graduated, transferred or just weren't in any of my classes so we lost touch. Still, TV shows aren't reality, and storylines generally have a bit more continuity than that. Oh well, I'm especially hopeful now that the show is more independent - I always thought it should have been an internet show, or at least on a more indie channel, if there is such a creature as an "indie" channel. (I've heard NBC is as indie as it gets though.)

Yes, I love Ron's lack of fanfare about his baby. It was very Ron. Too bad Lucy Lawless couldn't have been on more during Season 6!

LOL yea that is very true of college and community college in general. I mean, it's already ridiculous to think they would have so many classes together and not all have the same major. I just hope that Harman can control himself. Sometimes I worry the censors are the ones that keep these guys sharp and clever, as they try to work around the rules to slip innuendos and such by the gatekeepers. But will Yahoo have any gatekeepers?

Yay for being caught up on Parks and Rec! I'm going to cry so hard at that finale... I can't believe it will be over soon.

I need to get better at keeping up with the Gilmore Girls posts! I've only gotten around to watch the first two episodes so far...

We will all be crying together, don't worry! I am just glad we caught up in time so I can watch the finale with everyone else.

You're not too far behind on GG! One short marathon watch and you'll be caught up! I forgot how long it took for the town to start to grow, but we're getting into the quirky small town territory more now.

I'm going to be distraught once Parks and Rec ends. It's one of my favorite shows ever, and I'm just so sad it's ending!

It's just so hard to find well-written comedies and sitcoms that don't rely on being mean. P&R was never mean, which is what I love about it.
