orangerfulI was supposed to work today from 2:30-7:30 but apparently Limited is "over hours" for this week and they are cutting everyone back. So I had sort of siked myself up for a full day of standing and now....I'm sitting. haha. I even called and tried to see if they could switch it with Saturday, but it was a no go. Which will be rough cuz I'm gonna be up super-late Saturday. But at least I'll have Harry Potter adrenaline to run off of.
Manders is on her way to Europe this week, today I think. Gone for a month overseas. I'm so jealous. I need to plan some sort of summer outing. I really would like to go up to Boston for a bit. There's gotta be stuff to do in Maryland that I'm obvlivious of. I'd really like to go to Gettysburg, I haven't been there in ages. I need to do some sort of activity that has the bonus of exercise cuz I have been sitting inside all spring. course the weather was psycho, but still. I tried on all of my shorts yesterday and only a few of them fit, and that was only because I decided that I could go without breathing for a little bit. *sigh* I need like an exercise bike or something. So I can sit and watch Buffy AND get fit.
Speaking of the Buffster, started reading "What would Buffy Do? - The Slayer as Spiritual Guide" last night. It's really interesting. The first chapter was all about how, even though the show was created by a self procalimed atheist, and even though it pokes fun at organized religion, the ideas and morals are very spiritual. She focused on the idea of self-sacrifice. And not just the whole jumping into a hell dimension kinda sacrifice, but the little things that Buffy has to give up to save the world. Putting the world before herself. It focused mainly on Buffy, Angel, and surprisingly, Xander. Xander is the biggest hero of them all because he has no super powers. He's the only "normal" scooby. (and really, the only Scooby who hasn't gone evil....hm....) You can read a chapter at Slayage
Anyhoo, good read thus far. I love deep buffy books, make me feel all academic.
I need to shower. Being clean also makes me feel academic.
