Hey all! Sorry I've been MIA since the holidays started. That cold I got right before Christmas kicked my ass. I've been a slug, dragging myself from place to place. Came home from work early several times and just passed out. I'm finally starting to feel back to normal today, the sinus pressure has started to lessen a bit.

I didn't get to do any of my traditional end-of-the-year postings! So be read for those later this month LOL. I sort of did the books, but I need to do my movies. I watched a lot, but most of them were rewatches this year. Now that I've got GoodReads for tracking books and Letterboxd for tracking movies, I'll use LJ for tracking TV shows I watch and video games I play.

I have not watched the Doctor Who special yet. At first, I was still so upset about this past season's finale, I wasn't going to bother, but my friend Mathew has been raving about the episode and the online reviews I saw were a lot more positive then I expected, so I will get to that soon.

I set my GoodReads challenge at 100 books this year, but mostly because I find myself listing children's picture books and comic books more as I read them so I can find them later. I did have 80 books but decided this would make a big enough buffer so I can list silly stuff and not feel like I cheated LOL. I've already got four books up on the list, two of which I was almost finished with on Dec 31 and just happened to finish on Jan 1 and 2...so I didn't really read them in 2015 but shhhh! And then I read two 'Adventure Time' comic books while feeling icky yesterday. Look at me, ahead of the game! (it's won't last, I got games for presents)

Work weirdness will start on Monday. We are having the inside of the library renovated and will be closed to the public for a MONTH. So for January, I will be working a normal 9-5, Mon-Fri shift. Which is cool...except I lose my two sleep in days each week, which might be rough. I like sleeping in. Construction crew should arrive next week and start taking down/building our new desk. And staff will be pulling books off the shelves and moving the shelves and just making a huge mess LOL. It's going to be an adventure.

Okay, my tea is cool enough now! I shall sip and while eating leftover cupcakes from my NYE gathering. Good times were had, even if Tim and I were sniffling the entire night. :)

Well, as a librarian, I love GoodReads because it lets me find out about books I have no intention of reading so I use it all the time. Plus it's the one "social" site I have no guilt about looking at during work haha. If you have ever wanted to track your reading or make a to-read list, it is a wonderful site though. If you do decide to join, feel free to friend me!

Glad you're feeling better and woohoo 100! Challenges are kicking my butt into gear. lol.

Hope the reno goes smoothly! At least it's just a month. Savage was down for over a year. I was in withdrawal.

I had a bunch of weird dreams last night, but in one I was going somewhere with you and Tim and you were both insisting that there was a second library between work/home on the route I usually take. I had a library book to drop off apparently? Anyway it was a really creepy weird building and I was like well, I guess you two were right... And then Tim drove up the stairs and I was like O_o I could have just walked! Driving up was apparently quicker? lol.

Then I woke up so who knows what else we got into. But I know Tim is a much better driver than I dreamed. lol. Sorry Tim.

I'm looking at Dragon Age Inquisition and Skyrim like, "Hey guys....ummm....sorry? I'm kinda not playing WoW either much, but books? You guys understand, right?"

I don't think they understand. :P

Some people are challenge crazy! I started following a random book blog on Wordpress and that girl has signed up for like 10 challenges already! I do not read fast enough to do that LOL. I'll stick with my 100-books-I-already-want-to-read list. :)

I'm hoping it goes smoothly too. We have lots of grand ideas about how we want to rearrange but no real way to know if it will all fit the way we see it in our mind's eye.

LOLOL I told Tim he is a crazy dream driver. He laughed :)

I abandoned WoW awhile ago. We tried to play the Final Fantasy MMO but I just can't justify paying monthly fees when I have so many other games to play. DAI is so fun though. And so pretty.

Glad you're feeling better.

Hope the renovation isn't too disruptive.

The renovation will be disruptive but in a fun way LOL. I mean, we are going to tear apart the whole library and move ALL THE THINGS which is insane but it really needs it. I'm looking forward to it, but mostly because I love going through our shelves and finding things I can throw away. I'm a Weeding Queen.

Uuugh I've been debating creating accounts on goodreads and other... tracking things to keep track of my media consumption - but I'm worried I'd forget to keep them updated, and that would really irritate me XDDDDDD; Let me know if you have any pro-tips on how to avoid this, hahah!

I'm sorry to hear you've been ill, I hope you'll be back to normal sooooooon~!

I have both GoodReads and Letterboxd on my bookmarks bar and update them immediately. I may not review everything but I at least marked things read/watched. But I understand your pet peeve about having dead social pages. If you do decide to join either, feel free to add me! Maybe I'll inspire you LOL.

Good luck with the renovations at work! I was lucky and started at this job RIGHT after they went through all of theirs (they never closed to the public, but every time I went in during the interview process, it looked completely different!).

We had to fight a little to get permission to close. At first they just wanted to close us a week but my manager just laughed. I mean, can you imagine anything funded by the county government being finished on time? Yeaaaaaaaah. We got a whole month so that's plenty of time for us to make a mess and hopefully the outsiders can get their jobs done too LOL. :)

Happy New Year!

Too bad about being sick but I'm glad you were still able to have a good time.

I wish you the best for the workplace renos. Mine has been through a few, and it was worth it in the end for us. :)

I can't wait for our new furniture and desk. It will be a change but a change in the right direction for making our patrons understand what a cool library should look like. :)
