Haven't done one of these in awhile!

MOVIES:
Frank: By the end, I was a little frustrated because I felt like the movie I sat down to watch and had spent the last hour or so watching was not, in fact, the movie I was watching. I had to reevaluate everything I had seen. I can't decide if that made it brilliant or just wasted opportunity to say more?

Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge out of Water: As someone who has seen maybe two episodes of SB in their entirety, this was still fun to watch after a few drinks. Though Spongebob and Co. in CGI is kind of disturbing...

Donnie Darko: Hadn't seen this movie in a long time, probably since it's initial release on DVD. I had forgotten most of it. I really enjoyed it plus OMG SO MANY FAMILIAR FACES! Fran Kranz WHAT?!

Aziz Ansari: Buried Alive: This was pretty damn funny and if you have read his new book Modern Romance you can see the seeds of it being planted here. Only bit I did't like was about child molestation. Didn't think that bit was funny. The rest though, I laughed a lot.

Women Who Kill: this was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!! When I was a kid, there was a comedy special on HBO called Women of the Night featuring then up-and-coming acts like Ellen Degeneres, Rita Rudner, Paula Poundstone, and Judy Tenuta. Their jokes were all over the place and so funny. They all had unique styles and takes on the world. This show? It was four women doing THE EXACT SAME JOKES! And ALL of the jokes were about dating and sex. That was it. SUCH a let down.

TELEVISION
Eureka: We're halfway through Season 4...what a crazy plot! Also, so happy to see James Callus AND Felicia Day (I may have squealed when she walked on set). I am going to have so many feels when this show ends. Only one season left. :(

Americans: We started Season 2 and I'm liking it more than I did Season 1. Took me a long time to warm up to Elizabeth. Or maybe a long time for them to advance her character enough to make her likeable.

Rick and Morty: IT'S BAAAAAACK! And the first episode was BRILLIANT!!!!!!

I need to watch the most recent episode of Hannibal!!!!!! I know it was insane, everyone is talking about it and I keep having to run out of the room or scroll faster on tumblr. Hoping to experience it at some point this weekend when everyone goes to bed and I can watch all by myself and not worry about scarring anyone.

What are you watching?

Watching a lot of stuff right now. We're watching the latest season of "BoJack Horsemen." We're catching up on the first season of "The Flash" and third season of "Arrow." I'm watching "Grace & Frankie" and "Daredevil." Plus, there's a lot of things we want to start or pick up again.

I was disappointed by that "Women Who Kill" special too. I think I turned it off not halfway through the second act, I was so bored and uninterested.

I think I ended up watching the whole thing out of disbelief. Like, it must get better right? The next act MUST be the funny one. But no.

Tried a few episodes of "Inside Amy Schumer" too and it was funny but not as hilarious as I had hoped. But it was just the first few episodes.

And I don't mind raunchy humor but every now and then I'd like a joke that makes me think, ya know? LOL

I'm dying to watch Hannibal, but I want to wait until the whole season is out (or at least as much of it as we'll get) before I start it. The Last Ship -- same thing, I want to watch the season all at once, so I'm waiting for it to finish up before I start.

I've been rewatching DS9 and loving it so much! Almost through season one.

I have so many other show I'm behind on, I need a list or they're going to totally fall off my radar.

I wonder if that Zoo show got canceled? About animals going crazy and killing everyone/acting odd. I liked the first couple (two?) eps, but haven't caught it since then.

I believe NBC plans on airing the entire season, Hannibal seasons just aren't very long though :(

Oh my DS9...I remember watching that when it aired, though it didn't suck my family in the way ST:TNG did so we didn't stick with it.

Seriously, networks need to give shows a chance to spread. Do they not realize what a powerful tool word of mouth is? (or other social marketing beyond their control?). Most of the shows I decide to watch I pick up because of friends and family. I swear, we are missing out on some great television because networks can't wait for 3 episodes to air.

That show! It's just so much smarter than it seems. Like the moment when Morty managed to throw Rick off, by calling him out on being a drunk, how much that unsettled Rick, enough for him to finally be unsure of himself. There's this core to the show, the real love that Rick has for his grandson, even though he doesn't dare show it...it's sweet in a really messed up way (which seems to be Dan Harmon's MO)

I'm very selective when it comes to comedians, hearing the same jokes over and over again is tiresome and boring. This goes for any comedian, but it further sucks when women fall to this.

I'm glad you're enjoying Eureka! And yeah, there were a great amount of guest stars on that show, it was such a delight seeing them appear. :3

HANNIBAL WAS SO GOOD LAST WEEK OMG. For more reasons than one, but it was really intense and creepy and just everything I wanted. It's going to be bittersweet going into these last handful of episodes, but I'll be savoring everything we have left.

I did not know the Spongebob film was out. I saw a preview for it on TV and it looked super-weird... and not in a good way.
