OMG!! Day of the Tentacle was one of my FAVORITE games on the PC. It was a classic Lucasarts adventure game - meaning you couldn't die, it was all about a wacky story with wacky puzzles. And now Double Fine is remastering it for release next year!!!!! AAAAAAAAAH!

Did anyone else play DotT?

Also, the awesome [livejournal.com profile] stydia made this adorable blinkie for me and I keep forgetting to use him so I am going to add him to all my posts until Halloween. :)

I remember playing DoTT as a kid and loving it! Man there used to be so many good PC games. Makes me a bit nostalgic.

They are trying to bring them back, I think TellTale comes close though I would really like to see them go a little more open with the wandering. But I always loved LucasArts games because you couldn't die and that is what stressed me out about Space Quest and the like!

I really don't like this trend of remastering everything, but the screenshots in that article actually look really good! It would be neat if the game coupld capture the hearts and imaginations of a whole new generation of gamers ♥

I have a set of crocheted Purple and Green plushies. I took them with me to Japan once, and got a maid at a maid cafe to pose with them in a picture XDDDD;;;;

I've always been nervous about emulators so I have never tried to play my old games again on my PC. I really like the remasters if all they do is touch up the graphics like they have with the LucasArts line-up. Especially since no one seems to be making games like this anymore. TellTale tries, but I don't think they are quite there yet with the wacky humor.

I DEMAND TO SEE THIS PHOTO!!!!!! You must post it some day :)

I've played all the old classics in ScummVM, and it works perfectly! More and more titles are made available on GOG as well. The thing that irks me the most about remasters is the new graphics. It's usually very hit or miss, I tend to prefer the old graphics, even for games where I never played the original.

I would call the TellTale games storytelling games, not point and click adventures :P Still entertaining, of course, but the puzzle element and humour just isn't there.

hahaha, I already have. This was back in 2010, the post is here.

Did you play "Grim Fandango" because they have already redone that one along with the first two Monkey Island games. :) I'm hoping they eventually get to Full Throttle, which I have a very strong memory of going to the computer store with my Dad and picking up.

no way!! i did have Grim Fandango, and i loved it!

i wasn't wild on the Monkey Island reboots, but i think it's largely because i had them on my iPad and it was kind of a clunky interface. i'll have to look for regular Mac, because i think that'd be a bit more of a graceful play experience.

i'm still holding out for Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, but i wonder if maybe there are more specific copyright issues that would keep that from being redone?

Well, they updated 'Atlantis' enough that it will play on a new PC but the graphics are still the classic look (and I'm find with that!). You can get it from Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/6010/) or GoG (http://www.gog.com/game/indiana_jones_and_the_fate_of_atlantis) for really cheap.

Grim (http://www.grimremastered.com/) looks gorgeous and I can't wait to replay it! I know it will hurt my brain trying to remember it all but I don't care LOL.
