Don't you love it when all these books come in for you and you don't have time to read them all. So you just gotta return most of them or almost all of them? I have a shelf on Goodreads called, 're-check out'

We get 5 renewals if there are no holds and for a lot of the YA books, no one requests them...so they just sit on my desk because I feel bad putting them back on the shelf, especially when our shelves are tight and we already have a copy LOL. My desk is like the back-up YA area now.

We do too. If no one has hold on the book and we have copies in the library then we can renew for the maximum amount which is 5 renewals. Yeah. Haha. We have some tight areas. We float our material so when someone returns a book, it stays at our branch until someone checks it out. We end up with 5 or 8 copies of a book which takes up a lot of room.

YES! We have that "shared collection" thing too, which works until a book club decides to do a title and then BAM! SO MANY COPIES! :(

Haha. Yeah. Or when it's a new book by a best seller and these books are just the new material of the best sellers. The ones people can place holds on. When 7 people are done reading it, they return it here and we have 7 copies. Like the JD Robb or Stuart Wood books. Ugh. Omg. Only thing I can try to do is merchandise them at the end of the shelf if there's room. Haha.

They are all brand new from the past few months so no surprise there! And no shame. I keep reading reviews in the book journals and placing requests on them.

Are you sure you can't just quickly read all of those books? :P I love that someone titled their book Exit, Pursued by a Bear. One of the most famous Shakespeare stage directions! I've never read any of these books, though. I'm no help, lol. Also, I added you on Snapchat today!

LOL one of my co-workers always jokes that we need to have "book leave" so we can go home and read in peace.

Exit, Pursued by a Bear did catch my eye because of the title but the reviews have been really good too. But it is a very heavy topic so I keep putting off reading it.

These books are all brand new, I read a bunch of reviews and placed them on hold so I doubt anyone has read them!

YES! I added you back!

I'm contemplating returning some of the books I have checked out too because I have too many. All the comic books I was waiting for came out at the same time, and I put holds on them as soon as I saw them listed as on order, so now I have a bunch and no time aah.

Comic books are the worst because I get them and I'm like "oh this is short, I can read it quickly" and then I put off reading the "real" books longer...*sigh*

You must read Grounded! It was one of my favourite books of 2015. I'm really excited for the sequel, it's only a couple of months away.

Paper and Fire is not even out in Australia yet and I am so annoyed! Tempted to just buy it from Book Depository and be done with it.

I don't really know much about the other ones on your list, so I can't help any further.

Re comments above, do you mean you can renew the same book up to five times? If so that makes me rather jealous, as all the public libraries I have belonged to have only ever allowed one renewal, providing there are no requests.

That was one I just stumbled upon, I saw it on the display, the artwork reminded me of 'Tangled' and then I saw reviews on GoodReads and really wanted to read it . AND NOW YOU SAY THIS!!!! AAAAH! Must read it!

We *just* got 'Paper and Fire' in this week! But I'm not sure if I want to read it or listen to it. I listened to the first one and really liked the narrator.

The rest of them are brand new...though I think 'Golden Boys' is actually an Australian book! :D

Yep, books check out for 3 weeks and if no one else is asking for them, you can renew them 5 more times. A lot of it has to do with the size of the collection. If we didn't allow renewals like that, our shelves would explode!

There is definitely a Tangled vibe, though the characters are younger (Rapunzel is 12ish and Jack is maybe 14?) It actually deals with the psychology of her being isolated her whole life, and Jack has to explain really simple things to her, like what a sister is.

The Ballad of Black Tom is *really* good. Also on the short side -- I read it as an e-book, but have distinct feelings that it was more novella-length.
