So, how many of you have done this LJ idol thing before? I'm debating signing up for it. It seems like all the cool kids are doing it. :P

We started watching Westworld but I can't say I like it. Tim and I were talking and we decided it felt like a show about video games written by people who have never actually played video games, just read all the articles about how violent/sexual they can be. Also, Michael Crichton wrote the original movie in the 1973 and later he perfected the story of the theme-park-gone-wrong with Jurassic Park. And dinosaurs beat cowboys, any day.

I'm not sure what this show can tell me that I don't already know - humans shouldn't try to play god, people are inherently assholes (and, according to this show, MEN are the problem), and we should welcome your robot overlords.

Also (and this has been a pet peeve of mine for a LONG time) why does everyone say "fuck" all the time in this show? EVERYONE. Who talks like that? Should I be saying "fuck" more often? Am I the weirdo? It just gets to the point of being ridiculous and distracting.

We will see if we stick with it. We're mostly watching because we are caught up on our other shows.

I managed to get my hands on the new A.S. King book so I am compelled to get ready for bed early tonight. TTFN!

I haven't seen the show, but I have a few coworkers who use the word fuck pretty much in place of "the"...so maybe we are the ones doing it wrong?

Maybe it is because I work in a public library so we can't really drop f-bombs safely. If someone is dropping an f-bomb, it is usually a drunk patron LOL!

Ooh I think that LJ idol thing would just stress me out!

I was watching a movie once and someone said "fuck" and I was like 'That was completely unnecessary.' Like they just stick it in because it's the cool thing to do or something.

LOL yeah I was worried it might be more work than fun. It's not like I don't have enoguh to talk about! You guys don't need tl;dr entries from me on a regular basis!

Yeah, in the episode of Westworld last night she called someone "Gali-fucking-leo" and I was like "really??? Was that necessary? It doesn't even FLOW!"

I have considered joining the LJ Idol thing before, but I was never able to get a clear picture of how it worked or what people wanted, so meh. I've focused on other projects instead. You should do it if you think it sounds interesting!

I haven't seen Westworld, but I really want to! I watched the film a while back, and while it has many flaws, it's really enjoyable in that cult classic sense. Watching it, I thought "this could actually do with a remake, someone needs to do this concept justice". So I'm excited to check out the show when I can!

I'm thinking I am far too lazy/disorganized/distracted to focus on something like LJ idol. Perhaps I'll just watch this round and see if I can figure out what it is all about!

We will probably keep watching Westworld to see where it all goes. I just have this red flag because of J.J. Abrams and the fact that it is not a limited series so I just hope they know what they are doing and where they are going with it all!

I'm not that interested in Westworld. The initial previews had me curious on what it was about, but honestly it wasn't enough to make me watch. I've already heard conflicting reports of what it entails, and I know that it's just not for me, personally.

It feels like it could be a prequel to BSG and why the Cylons rebelled and if that is the case, I might end up siding with the Cylons!

Having seen the original Westworld, I wasn't convinced there was enough material for a series. Haven't watched it. I'm afraid I say fuck quite a lot. Not "Deadwood" amounts though.

I'm pretty sure Westworld is on the same level as Deadwood when it comes to dropping f-bombs out of nowhere LOL. I guess it is my sheltered library life, can't really swear when you're in public service.

I tend to use Liz Lemon noises like "BLURGH!" and also the classic "Great Googly Moogly!" and "flippin" is also very useful!

What is the LJ idol thing? God I'm so behind with everything that is cool LOL

I still have to start Westworld... My friends are going banana about it but I think I'll start it when my other shows will go on a break! :)

why does everyone say "fuck" all the time in this show? EVERYONE. Who talks like that? Should I be saying "fuck" more often? Am I the weirdo? It just gets to the point of being ridiculous and distracting.

Funny you say that... On suits they say "Goddamnit" all the time and now it's quite funny to me... But Westworld is on HBO and the network LOVES to be able to say that word! Gabriel Macht from Suits said that he has a limit of Goddamnit he can say in every episode and it's 14... He was probably kidding but every episode has at least 5 goddamnit in it!

Seems like a commitment though! I can't even get through a 30 day meme LOL!

I just had a friend text me on Sunday asking if I was watching it and now he is waiting for me to get caught up. It's not bad it's just not great yet, we're only on episode 3.

HAHAHA I guess they can say 'Goddammit' on USA and that is as harsh as that channel gets? Too funny.

I checked it out... Nope I'm not ready to write in english LOL! It's so annoying though because I'm pretty good at composition, and in school I was VERY good! But I need to have Eric reading and correcting what I write before posting it! I wrote a FanFic once and it's still doing pretty good on AO3 and FF.net but I had to ask Eric to review and correct chapters and - even if he enjoyed it - it was too much to ask... I think I could do it myself and check everything more than once, but I won't be able to respect the deadlines!

Goddamnit is kind of my favorite word at the moment LOL!

Anyway... I don't say bad words in Italian, because it feels wrong (My dad always said to me "that's not the kind of word that should come out from a lady's mouth... Your mother is not a Lady so she can say it" LOL) but I say a bunch of them in english... Especially when I'm mad... Eric tends to count my Fu*ks and sometimes they're more than the rest of the words used in the sentence xD

I will admit to throwing the f-bomb around like it was an article (although I make a special point not to if children are around). It started in college, and I've been trying to rein it in lately with some success.

I did LJ idol a couple times a number of years ago. It was OK - I got to write a bit, and met a few new people. The only thing I had a problem with was keeping up with reading and commenting to everyone else's entries sometimes.

I am debating whether I want to sign up for it this time - I kind of need a distraction right now.

Drat! Too bad to hear about Westworld. I had it saved so I could marathon it once more eps were out.

I don't know what's up with all the fucks flying around shows now either. It's kind of jarring to my ear, too. I rarely curse, mostly only if I stub my toe or drop something.

Enjoy the new book!

I'm almost done with Major Crimes (*SNIFFLE!*), so maybe I'll check that out next then!

It's so hard when you finally finish a show. Five seasons, over a month of spending hours a day with these characters, then it's going to be over. One of the actors was a young teenager in the first season, and he looks like an adult now. It's so odd!

I wasn't familiar w/ LJ Idol, but it sounds fun. I probably wouldn't keep up the motivation, but if you can, it definitely sounds like a cool thing to do.

I've only seen the pilot of Westworld, so I still don't know where I stand on it, other than "Marsden is pretty" and "ooh, cowboys (admittedly not real ones"

I use "fuck" with some regularity, but not a ton. When I was in college, however, everyone used it every other sentence and I followed suit since you tend to pick up the lingo used around you...or at least I do.
