Date: 2013-09-15 02:51 am (UTC)As an American Studies major, I know I didn't really appreciate history until I started to read the stories of the "little people." I think we get so bogged down in names and dates that history loses it's meaning, and it's the personal stories that can give us a connection and meaning.
And I think too, it make me think of my late grandmother, who lived through WWII and I love telling the story of her life and it helps me understand that time period and the people who lived through it.
