Legion, episode 7 reaction/thoughts

Watched this morning and I just can't get enough of this show.

Obviously episode spoilers under the cut. Oh I do NOT watch any commercials or previews for the following week (I don't even know if they do that for Legion) so please don't mention anything about upcoming episodes if they have shown things in trailers. I had a freak out while watching Legion today because there was a commercial for Americans and we haven't watched this week's episode yet.


OMG how insane was the whole silent film thing? That was hilarious.

Did anyone else thing Aubrey Plaza looked like Prince for a moment when the light was behind her and her hair was all wild and crazy...I don't know why it made me think of Prince.

"Is that supposed to be a British accent?" **dies**

"I am pretty and I am loved." **dies again**

But seriously - WHEN IS THIS SHOW? I had assumed, due to the aesthetic, that it was in the late 60s/early 70s. I know Division 3 had some high tech stuff, but I figure they are a super secret organization so they might have access to things like that, but everyone else lives in the normal-ish world...

EXCEPT when David's sister was freaking out about contacting her husband, she said "EMAIL" !!!!! Sooooooo wtf. Was that a goof? A tease? The writers messing with OUR minds?



NO NEXT WEEK IS THE FINALE?!?! NOOOOOOO!

Also, in WTF Tumblr news, I was bored and making tea the other night after watching the amazing Crosswalk Musical with James Corden sketch and I took a bunch of screenshots because Dan Stevens is my big crush right now, posted them to Tumblr and it is like the most popular thing I have posted in a long time...maybe ever.

oh shit, I gotta get to work! TTFN!

I'm not sure when it is, but I'd say the 90s. Because Melaine's husband is very 60s and has been under for a very long time.

Legion is fantastic. I'm thinking the world we're seeing is made up of David's memories so the time line isn't a line at all. It's trippy that way.

I was thinking about that this morning, that maybe we've got another twist coming, that the reality we experience in the show might be going through a David lens...but how is everyone else experiencing it? AAAAH! SO CRAZY LOVE THAT SHOW!

My friend's theory is that the whole thing is taking place in David's head (or, me applying my theory to it, the astral plane), which is why none of the time setting cues match up.

That kinda works except I feel like we've been out of David's POV a few times, right? Haven't we seen things he didn't see or know about?

Then again, when the one guy was recounting the memory of his mother's death, she was dressed in a very 1950s style but he said she was listening to 99 Luftballoons from the 80s.

But there's definite wonkiness going on all over--my viewing friend pointed out that despite Amy being married (?), she has the same given last name as David.

Astral plane or a dream, sometimes there is zero internal consistency that would in and of itself make sense.

My reaction was "She looks like Edward Scissorhands".
