LEGION -
I immediately Googled to make sure we were getting a second season and luckily this made me stick around for the tag scene after the credits. It wasn't my favorite episode of the season, but it was still great and I did not expect it all to play out the way it did.

Also, I sorta loved the random insertion of this gay character who happened to have a kid and also who we happened to think of as a "bad guy" up until that point because he was working for the Division. That is the kind of stuff you see in comic books and they usually wuss out and don't use them in the shows/movies. But not this show.

I AM WAY TO EXCITED ABOUT MORE JEMAINE CLEMENT AND AUBREY PLAZA ON MY TV NEXT YEAR OMG!!!!!!!!

AMERICANS -

We're on a slow burn with this show right now, I can feel the fuse moving closer and closer to the explosives and BOOM goes the dynamite. I can't decide if it will be Paige or Tuan or Philip. The whole thing with Philip starting to question why Russia can't feed it's people and the Russian expat telling him that the USSR is too screwed up to do it, simple as that.

I like that they are having trouble with the seduction assignment, that it is starting to wear at them. Elizabeth is pretending it doesn't bother her, but you can tell is still does.

And Paige...dear sweet naive Paige...snooping around the Pastor's house, playing spy.

Though OMG the kid who plays Henry LOL - Tim was like "is that the same actor?" - he had such a growth spurt between seasons, I think they are making him sullen and hidden because he just looks wrong now. He's too old for his role.

RIVERDALE -

Archie was a full on jackass in this episode, I'm not sure what that was about. I know his pride was all hurt because of the attack on his Dad but the barging into the baby shower to throw down with Jughead? Come on, man.

I did not see the ending coming though, the Blossoms creep me out. But I guess Mr. Cooper is a way bigger creeper, now we know.

Also, are they not allowed to say "abortion" on a teen show or something? Those were some awkward moments of "you made her an appointment" **glares and insinuates** I mean, why can't they say it? It wasn't like they were condoning it if they thought people would take offense? Probably some strange FCC rule.

By the end of that episode, there were so many people double crossing other people I wasn't sure who was telling the truth to anyone! Actually, the KIDS are sorta honest, which was they Jughead's lie of omission hurt Archie. The adults lie to each other ALL THE TIME.

13 Reasons Why - Sylvia reminded me that this was on Netflix today so we watched the first two episodes. She read the book a few years ago and, as a librarian, I can tell you that it has been going strong all these years as one of those must-read YA books. Seriously, our copies were always out and read to pieces. If you like Riverdale and Veronica Mars, where the mystery drips out in pieces and there are lots of over-dramatic teens who look far too old to be sophomores, give it a try. If I didn't have to work tomorrow, I probably would watch a few more episodes tonight LOL.

We only have two episodes left in Steven Universe Season 3 and then we are back to waiting for Hulu to get the rest. Right now, if they released the entire series on blu-ray, I would buy it. It is just too perfect and I love it so much and I am highly annoyed that Hulu is the only way to watch it. I WANT TO GIVE YOU MY MONEY CARTOON NETWORK!!! WHY WON'T YOU TAKE IT?!?!

Excited that Archer, Fargo, and iZombie are back this month! They might not filled the Legion shaped hole in my heart, but they will keep me amused.

Sidenote: I might have creeped Sylvia out this afternoon while looking through my Instagram and swooning over Cole Sprouse and pretty much the entire cast of Riverdale. I am sorry THEY ARE ALL HOT AND I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THINKING THEY ARE HOT! I mean, I'm not gonna touch them, they are in California for crying out loud! oh to be at WonderCon right now, I'd be dirty-old-ladying all over that panel

This post got long...and weird...I blame the cold medication...that I haven't taken yet...GOODNIGHT!!!!

My Fiance and I were saying the same too. Like wtf?

I heard quite a few episodes of Riverdale leaked somewhere on the internet so I've been avoiding the Riverdale tag on tumblr like the plague because spoilers.

Yikes, thanks for the heads up! I don't go on tumblr that much anymore but sometimes I do get bored and want to look at pretties but I think I will avoid that tag until the end of the season LOL

I've been binge-watching The Americans lately for the first time and I agree, I feel like they're setting up Phillip to really question whether communism is actually even a system that works. He's always enjoyed living in America and acknowledged that it's a more comfortable life there, but at the same time there's still nostalgia for his homeland that he's never really let go of. Maybe that could change now that he's being forced to hear so many complaints that he can't really deny on how the system over there works? Bit OT, but one thing I've been surprised about actually is that the show doesn't have more of Phillip and Elizabeth actually discussing Communism, and why they're such firm believers in what they're doing and how it's going to change the world. Obviously there has been a few mentions here and there of what they don't like about America, but the show never seems to get into all that much. Maybe the writers feel like that would come across too obvious, but I feel like it would help with Elizabeth's character especially if they gave her a few outbursts on the inequalities of capitalism etc being why she can't just embrace their more comfortable life in America, but they never really seem to do that? The most worked-up we've seen them get is mostly over religion,

Lol yes, it's kind of jarring to see what a cute kid actor he was in the pilot, he's really changed a lot since then. I did read that that's why they're using him so rarely these days, and had a lot of scenes of him sitting down to play video games in seasons 3 and 4, because they don't really know how to deal with his growth spurt when time is meant to be passing more slowly on the show.

I'm wondering if maybe we are heading towards that direction, of Philip and Elizabeth finally saying "Wait, what *are* we fighting for?" because, you're right, they don't really talk about Communism vs Capitalism. They've been indoctrinated to not think about it, I'm sure, just like Americans probably don't sit and think much about Democracy/Capitalism except in very broad terms. They are so focused on the mission...or, at least, they have been. I think the whole prospect of going back to Russia really made Philip think about it all again, at least a little bit, especially since I think they have a kind of rose-colored glasses memory of their homeland. I mean, they know it was rough and imperfect, but they have built it up in their minds to be better. Now they are listening to this guy complain about how things have gone wrong and maybe they will start to question, the same way I think Oleg is starting to question.

I'm behind with Riverdale, but I read the comment on Legion and OMG!!! I loved the episode too! I am way too into Dan Stevens right now... Especially now that I started Downton Abbey! How can he be adorable in every role she has? LOL!

The last bit after the credits was super important and thankfully I came across a post from Dan on instagram that said to keep watching... Otherwise I would have missed it!!! We need to remember after all it's a marvel show LOL!

I never watched any of the Xmen movies (well I watched Deadpool) so I know nothing about the universe, but legion made me want to watch some of the movies, so I might give them a try!

Can't wait for the next season! <3

Oh the X-Men movies...there are the ones worth watching -- X-Men, X-Men 2 (or X2 or X-Men United depending on the box), X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past...and just stop there.

The rest are just not good. :( I still remember going into a rage after seeing X-Men: Last Stand at the theater...thank goodness there was a bar across from the theater in the mall!

I think the only time I went into rage after a movie (one and only) was after Mulholland Drive.... never hated something like I hated that movie!

LOL it doesn't happen often, but when it is a fandom close to my heart, I tend to get more protective when I see the properties abused. Plus, to top it off, the movie ripped off the Joss Whedon comic and did it badly. Ugh.

Though I've heard people who have no knowledge of the comics/cartoon from the 90s have enjoyed that movie because they didn't have the high expectations us X-Men geeks had LOL. :)

The Wolverine movies were straight up BAD though. I stole that movie when it leaked online and I still wanted my money back! The only reason the movie made any sense was because I played the video game first - that's never a good sign!

Sylvia was telling me that the show obviously has a lot more than the book, since the show you are limited to Clay's point of view the entire time while the show is giving you insight into the activities of other characters. I'm finding the show good but exhausting because it is some heavy subject matter! I'm not sure how I would feel about reading it too LOL.

I never got around to reading it. Tim's daughter read it and liked it a lot. It is pretty intense, I mean, I knew the basis for the show but it is still pretty upsetting at times. Really well done though. I'd say you could go either way. Sylvia has pointed out that there is a lot in the show that is not in the book, since you only see the story from the main character's point of view in the book, but this gives you insight into the other people, especially the adults which I think is a really great addition since teen novels tend to stay trapped in teen zones.

It is a really quick read though, it is not very long to begin with and Sylvia said she read it in a weekend.

I had to avoid your Legion posts until I caught up, but I have and \o/

My friend warned me the final ep wasn't as strong as the one before, but...I liked it? The final scene was a serious WTF, but I'm deeply curious to see where the SK plotline goes, especially since it's in Oliver, who knew not only about SK but his 'real' name, along with Cary. HMM.

I've been getting my SU the *cough* illegal way. But they really ought to release it on DVD or BluRay, I mean WHY WOULDN'T YOU, YOU'D MAKE SO MUCH MONEY.

I liked the finale it just wasn't *as* good as the rest of the series BUT I feel like that sometimes happens with finale? Actually, it was kind of like a Game of Thrones finale - everything happened in episode 7 and episode 8 was kind of a weird epilogue setting up season 2?

I downloaded the Cartoon Network app which has most of Season 4 on it (except for episode 3 WTF?) but it is the WORST APP I have ever used!!!!

I've only seen the pilot of Legion, but good so far.

W/ the exception of Archie's dad, the adults are all pretty shitty in this show...which is interesting as Archie is the most assholely of the protagonists.

Probably write up a longer post later as I was thinking about this a lot yesterday, but the young women of Riverdale are really the driving force of that show. The boys are kinda just eye candy and the adults are mostly jerks, though the mothers are good and feisty, even when they are being shitty.
