Okay, I did NOT realize the new showrunner for Doctor Who is the creator of Broadchurch! I was so distracted by the awesome that is Jodie Whittaker (who was AMAZING in all three seasons of Broadchurch) that I never bothered to read the bit about the new showrunner LOL.
So that makes me a wee bit more interested AND a bit more hopeful too because I think Broadchurch had some fantastic writing and that the female characters were so amazing and well-rounded (but, then again, it was Jodie Whittaker AND Olivia Colman who could both sit in silence and I was be like "BRAVO!!!!!!")
I just finished up season 3 of Broadchurch (FINALLY got the DVD from the library because my BBC America streaming wasn't working) and WOW. I'm sad that the show is over, that they said they don't have any more stories to tell in this town, but those are three SOLID seasons so I think it will be a show that people refer back to as time goes on...at least writers of police shows and fans of great storytelling and character development.
