Smeagol lied...
Jan. 24th, 2005 12:00 amso we *cough* aquired a copy of "Battle for Middle Earth", the LotR-movie based RTS that just came out, and i have to say, I love it! I was never any good at the "heroes" part of other RTS, but I understand this one a teeny bit more. Dunno if I'm just paying more attention since I know all the characters, or if this one is a bit more user friendly. I got totally sucked in to campaign mode and most of the evening (except when we stopped for dinner & Angel).
I also popped in "Silent Hill 4: The Room" this morning. Played for a good 30 minutes before dying and being too freaked out to go on. AD asked me how I could play SH and not RE! I think it's because SH seems a lot more like a movie, you spend more time creeping yourself out than fighting. I don't like dying in games, and in RE you die A LOT. SH you just run away a lot (well, if you play like me you do). I do like RE, but if I wait long enough, AD will play it and i can watch it and it's like a movie. SH he doesn't play, so I get sucked into the story and end up playing it myself to find out what happens.
The "Big Snow" was a Big Letdown. It's just fluffy. I went outside today and cleaned off my car so I wouldn't have to do it tomorrow morning, and the stuff was already melted on the side toward the sun. Honestly, I was looking forward to being trapped inside and not having to go to work. Ah well, that's the only problem with weekend snow storms.
zaubervz says he has off school tomorrow, which makes no sense, but maybe other parts of Anne Arundel County were hit harder...that and AA is notorious for panicing.
Watched the rest of the Return of the King commentary. I thought it was quite amusing. Dom & Billy are totally nuts, they just babble and it makes me giggle. Sean Astin is bi-polar as always, saying how he thought he was horrible in one scene, then loved the next. He always sounds so insanely serious, I have to laugh at him. Elijiah cracks a few jokes but he's stuck in the room with Sean so he hardly gets as many words in as I'd liked. Andy Serkis is certifiable, doing his own commentary, then breaking down and doing a Smeagol and Gollum bit. And Bernard Hill (Theoden) also has a sense of humor that I didn't expect. *sigh* I love those movies.
OH! I finally finished "Wicked". I really enjoyed it. I thought it was going to end earlier than it did, but it takes you all the way to Dorothy tossing water on the Witch. I reccomend it, especially if you're in the mood for something a little twisted.
Anyhoo, I need to get to bed. I work 2 shifts tomorrow. 9-1 (WCO) and then 5-9 (PRO). Ah well, at least all the libraries are close enough I can come home for lunch then drive back out.
