So I've been reading one of my birthday books - Televised Morality: The Case of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It's quite amusing because I carry it around with me while I'm at work. At first glance, everyone says "ew, what is that, for a class?" and I say "no no, read the subtitle". Then they see BtVS and they sort of roll their eyes. "oh, I thought it was a text book." Then I try to explain that it really is a textbook, it's written by an ethics and religion professor and it written as a teach aide for studying television using Buffy as a guide when examining a TV series.

Joss Whedon has agreed to writing and directing the new Wonder Woman movie, so I checked out our two "Ultimate Guide" books today. I know absolutely nothing about Wonder Woman beyond the fact that she looked like Lynda Carter. So I figured I'd do some research so I can be prepared for this movie.

Been pretty quiet today, though I feel like it's gone by relatively quickly. I helped a girl find a copy of "Hitchhiker's Guide" and I think I fangirled on her. She asked me to find the book then she offered "here's the author" and i was like "oooooh it's douglas adams he's my favorite author and that's my favorite book and...." yeah, I went on for awhile. Found her a copy though, and that's what counts. I also fangirled on some poor Star Wars guy who asked if we were getting "Revenge of the Sith" (which we are not, WTF! we got Labrynth of Evil but not RotS???). He was like "are you a fan?" oh man, I started talking about the trailer and watching palpy fight and...yeah he ran away. I'm such a dork.

Speaking of Star Wars - I checked out "Dark Rendevous" today, which is a Yoda clone wars novel. I read the review on theforce.net and they really liked how. How could I resist a novel where the main character speaks backwards? I also checked out Gregory Maguire's "Lost" (no relation to the TV show). If I read that, I've read all of his adult books. So I figured what the heck.

So it's 7 now and slooooooow. Though some avon-like lady just got done in the meeting room and since no one showed up for her little show, she gave us her bubble bath. Figure I can give that to Jules or Mrs. Smith, they'd use it.

I want to make icons. Maybe I'll write down some icon ideas while I'm sitting here. I made four last night, two for contests and two for a request someone had posted to [livejournal.com profile] starwarsicons. I think photoshop is still open on my computer at home right now with a ton of Ep III pics cropped and waiting for pretty-fying.

Heh, I remember while Christmas shopping, I once helped a mom figure out which character she was really looking for (she was all like, 'One of the new guys... he was first a kid, but is now a teenager...'), and then went on to explain how the SW toys come in waves, and that one should buy what they want now before the next line-up takes over the shelves, etc. I remember her 8-10 yr old son looking at me like I was a freak when she explained this all to him. ~laughs~

Actually, no, Labyrinth is the first EU book I've started reading. I'm just so busy, and reading often makes me sleepy, which is something I can't be right now. But, I would love to get to some of the other books and comics one of these days.
Heck, Clone Wars new season on TV next week! :D

I seriously need to! I'm so behind-in-the-times that I haven't even made it to the fifth book. o.O
