So, yeah, I did not get the position at Severna Park. They filled one of them and decided to hold off on filling the second position. The HR person called this morning but I wasn't fast enough in answering the phone so she left a message. I listened to it before I came to work today, so I knew I didn't get the job. But then awkward land happened when she called her to talk to the other PTH working with me, who, in fact, did get the job. I didn't really mind though. I feel like I need a bit more practice before I attempt to handle this thing on my own. I mean, right now, I'm soooo not ready to be put in charge of anything. Still need some practice. I did graduate myself from my "training" badge to my "staff" badge, but mostly because half the day you answer questions on the phone and they can't see the thing anyhow. hehe. Anyway, Birgit sat me down and talked to me about how the interview went and gave me some pointers for next time. Pretty much boosted my ego haha. It was really nice. I wish I could work at Crofton. Everyone here is so nice and silly.
In other news - I need clothes. I spent an insane amount of time this morning trying to find a top to wear. I have winter sweaters and such, but as far as "spring/summer" tops, I got nothing but T-shirts. And I'm thinking the library would not be super thrilled if I showed up in my Darth Vader t-shirt, which is two sizes too big. So I need to go to Kohls or something and stock up, cuz I can only rotate these 4 decent tops for so long.
I've been looking at apartments online...I'm curious about the complex that's literally next door to us, on the other side of the senior community. It costs only slightly less than what Greentree wants to up ours too, but from the outside it looks much nicer, so we need to check the inside and see if we like it. One of the other librarians is moving there, so he was giving me the skinny on other Glen Burnie apartments. Villeage Square sounded the nicest though, and if I'm gonna pay $900/month, I'd like someplace a bit nicer than Greentree.
Gosh, that's a complaining kinda post isn't it? Good news - I got second place at StarWarsStills. And it's a week until we leave for C3!!!!! I'm so excited about that (though it turns out Hayden is only doing a video conference and won't actually be there). And my Sims University Greek House got up to level 3 last night! WOOT!
la la at Crofton right now, be here until 9pm. Update your journals so I have something to read (everytime I say that, it gets busy).
Oh - NEW EPISODE OF HOUSE TONIGHT! 9pm FOX, don't forget!

Date: 2005-04-13 12:24 am (UTC)Heh, I hear ya on the whole needing nicer clothes bit. I'm running into the same problem going into the corporate world straight from the more relaxed setting of the group home.
Good luck on the apt hunt! I hope you find a pretty and comfy one! :)

Date: 2005-04-13 11:59 pm (UTC)you should check h&m in arundel mills, they have lots of really awesome cute stuff for cheap. it's not *all* the greatest quality (like the tshirts), but i have many things from last year that are still holding up great, like skirts and blazers and buttondowns. i haven't been there in a while, we should go!
i'm sorry the job didn't work out. good luck with apartment search- i want to move also but not for another year i gues.
