Hokey dokey kids - it's time for a read-a-long! You will know it is time to turn the page, when you hear the lightsaber blade ignite like this *shhhhhhhhhhhhhzzzzzzzzzzzz*

hehe. Anyhoo, Celebration III!! What a wild wild weekend. Indiana is not Maryland, we know that for sure, and Indianapolis is not Baltimore or Washington. nope nope nope.

Wednesday April 20th - we arrived at BWI around 3:30, our flight scheduled to leave at 5:28. Everything went smoothly. Arrived in Chicago on time and hopped on a much smaller plane for the trip to Indianapolis. It was raining when we arrived - we should have taken that as a warning sign. We checked into our hotel then started a search for food. We wandered downtown for a few hours and then gave up, went back and called Dominos. Mmmm mmm good. We knew we could sleep in tomorrow because the doors didn't open until noon anyway.

Thursday April 21st - Woke up and began a whole new search for food - bagels! On our way to the bagel place, we passed...THE LINE. It was the general admission line, already wrapped around the building. Hm, we thought, let's try the fan club line after we have a bagel (this is around...10:30-11am). After our yummy einstein bagel we attempted to find the end of the fan club line...we ended up on a whole other planet, no where near the convention center, but behind the RCA dome. The line started to move at noon....slowly...slowly...I wanted to get inside for the Warwick Davis' film...but...we...just...kept...plodding...along. We didn't actually get inside until around 2. We wandered around trying to decide what to do with ourselves. The store line was insane and already they were telling people that the store was full for the day and to try back tomorrow. We wandered into the exhibit hall, full of merchants trying to get us to buy over priced action figures. There were a few cool things though. I picked up a print of Yoda from the Clone Wars cartoon, number 314 of 1000. I also ordered a Yoda plush that was sold out but the guys promised to make more for those of us who had the cash. Why not. Hopefully I'll see him in 3 months. Lots of freebies being handed out as well, Hasbro, as always with the best stuff. They gave out free Attaticks figures - I got Preggers Padme packin' a huge blaster, AD got Plo Koon with force power, and Vincent recieved Clone Commander Bly, with a gianormous blaster rifle. Those suckers shoot FAR! There was also a display with lots of the upcoming figures. I got to see Crispykin Frywalker. He's icky. I still want one. The M&M line is super cute as well, must have that. Vincent met up with his friend Isaac and dissappeared for a bit. AD & I went to Lorne Petersons' interview, which was pretty cool. He's the head model builder for ILM, he worked on all 6 star wars movies plus countless other classics (back to the future 1,2,3, die hard...). His chat was quite interesting, though I could have lived without the fanboy Q&A. We found Vincent later "pwning" some fellow fans on Replublic Commando. He tried not to drool on the Alienware computer, and actually won first place. Which means he got to enter a raffle and they gave us a free pen and t-shirt. haha. Burger King's booth had free crowns and a first look at the happy kid's meal toys.
Then we had a quick dinner and went to sit in line for the opening ceremonies. The line started at the ballroom door...and went all the way outside around the building and up the stairs. I stood next to Han Solo and Luke Skywalker. They were both very nice. After waiting for a couple hours, we went inside. Steven Sansweet came on stage with a garrison from the 501st and Darth Vader. He welcomed everyone to the event and introduced the head of licensing, who came out and chatted for a moment. "Who would have guessed", he said, "that my greatest achievment in 30 years would be...DARTH TATER!" Then he said that for the RotS soundtrack they are going to include a DVD with a little music video for "Battle of Heroes", which he then showed to us. I could actually feel myself sliding forward in my seat as the images went across the screen. They weren't very spoilerly, but they were very cool.
Then Jay La'agia (Captain Typho) came out and sang Weird Al's "The Saga Begins" which was so much fun, everyone got into it. Warwick Davis (Wicket, Willow...) came out and talked about what would be on his stage plus let us get a sneak peek at the one-man trilogy and Star Wars in 30 Minutes. The SW in 30 crew did the RotS trailer in 30 seconds, which was hilarious!
Rick McCallum came out and said hello, then they ran a little video montage of actors from the prequels that "wanted" to come but couldn't make it. Samuel Jackson, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christiensen, Ian McDiarmid, Christopher Lee, and Ewan McGregor. Lee was funny as he said he recorded the message "1, in case I cannot be there and 2, if I'm not anywhere." Ewan also made a crack about the title "Is is Return or Revenge of the sith?". Then Sansweet introduced the people that were actually there. Last but not least, they talked about how they wanted this to not just be about RotS, but the entire saga, so they showed us a little video that they had made to show to movie theater owners to convince them to run RotS (like they needed any convincing). Footage from all 6 movies blended together. The crowd went wild, then we went home, set the alarm clock for much earlier, and went to bed.

April 22nd - Rise and Shine at 6:30am - it's raining outside and we have no umbrellas. We did't have an sweatshirts either. So we went to stand in line, after eating our free hotel breakfast, and started the soaking process. Vincent and AD left in search of a store with umbrellas. I made friends with the lady behind me, who happened to be from Maryland. She also had an umbrella. AD & Vince couldn't find any open stores (it was only 7:30) so we all huddled under her umbrella. We made it in and AD booked it for the store, hoping to buy a dry shirt, but the line was practically as long as the line outside. Vincent and I booked it for the Rick McCallum Spectacular! AD ended up standing in line until about 3:15pm. Vincent and I managed to get inside for the Spectacular, which was. The footage from Ep III was new and amazing. It was just set to music, so you had no dialogue spoilers, but it was just...wow. Yes, that's all I'll say for now. WOW. Then there was a little making of montage which showed that they only built about 3 sets for the show barely haha. After that we attempted to find AD but he was still in line. So we wandered into the Art Room. Vincent purchased a bad-ass Vader print and a beautiful drawing of Padme. We also picked up our Droid Hunt badges for the next day. While we were out and about, a lady approached us with the Jedi Mind Trick cards too. We checked out the droid builders room, which not only had some sweet R2s and Gonk droids, but also a Jar-Jar in Carbonite. AD called and told us the news - pretty much all the super cool stuff was sold out except for talking Vader. He snagged 4 Vaders, a gray sweatshirt for Vincent, a CIII poster, bottle opener, patch, and programs. We walk back to the Spectacular, which is now just running continuously without the Q&A afterward so AD gets a chance to see the footage. Exhausted yet again, we headed back to the hotel.

April 23rd - Vincent decides that he wants his 4 figures and books it for the store immediately. AD & I head to the Star Wars in 30 Minutes line. Soon as I walk in, a trooper approaches me, sees my badge, and asks "How long have you had these droids?" "About 3 or 4 seasons," I smile back as I reach into my pocked and pull out the mind trick card. "But these aren' the droids you're looking for." He takes the card, and replies blankly "These aren't the droids I'm looking for, have a nice day." and walks off. We get in line for the trilogy and AD goes to find Vincent. While he's gone, a second trooper scopes out our line and sees my badge. "How long have you had these droids?" he asks. I hand over my card and he says "Sorry for your loss". Then I make him pose for a picture. hehe. He gives me a raffle ticket so I can get my souvenir badge back at the end of the day. We move into the SW30 show, Vincent still trapped in the store line. It's a hilarious performance. Talk about minimalist haha. X Wing fighters are folding chairs thrown over your head, Darth is a guy in black sun glasses, who also doubles as Chewbacca by wearing a fuzzy chestplate. Lots of hopping and clomping about. So funny. We get out, Vincent is still in line. We head to the Art Room and make a special request of one of the artists whose style has intrigued us. We ask for 3 of his sketch cards with a battle scene on it. He makes us a deal that if we can wait a month, he'll make us a nice 8x10 picture of the scene. We agree. Then we dash upstairs to get in line for Warwick Davis' interview. While we're waiting in line, we see a bunch of cool costumes. A white darth vader, elvis trooper, and even a life size jawa. A couple of Clone Troopers come by so I get AD to take his picture with them. A scout trooper walks by with an ewok in a noose!
We get great seats for the Warwick interview. Jay La'agia come out on stage with a guitar and played "Sitting on the dock of the bay" and gets everyone to sing along. Then Warwick comes out and they chat. Everything from Jedi to Marvin. Someone even gets him to do the Leprechaun rap! haha. He's a good sport though. he talks about playing Battlefront with his daughter and says he never shoots the ewoks! We found Vincent after that then returned to the same line for John Knoll. Not only is he the visual effects supervisor for ILM, but he's also a co-creator of Adobe Photoshop! *worships* who knew? He's been working on a book about the effects in all 6 star wars films, so he showed us some new photos he had discovered in the archives, then talked about RotS. Then, as a bonus, he showed us some RotS computer errors and some flat out gags from the ILM guys. You've all seen the images of Palpatine blasting blue lighting out of his fingers? Well, one of the ILM guys replaced the lighting with a keyboard, Palpy was rockin' it. Things like that. Hopefully they will be easter eggs on the DVD someday.

April 24- my turn to stand in line. Yes, I fell for it. It looked short but I was gone for 3 hours. AD & Vincent stood in line for the Archives. I ended up chatting with "Mara Jade" and her friend. They started doing pre-orders for lots of the items that sold out on the first day, so I ordered the Yoda hoodie/sweatshirt while I was getting my talking vaders. Found Vincent and AD recovering from the Star Wars Musical and we watched the One Man Trilogy, which was exhausting in itself! He was really funny. He says he does a one man LotR too, which I'd love to see. We did one last sweep of the exhibit hall too and picked up goodies for Skylor and Snowden. Then it was off to the airport.
Now, I thought our adventure had ended there. but while we're sitting at the terminal in Indianapolis, something very cool happens. AD gets up to use the restroom, comes back and tells me that Warwick Davis is sitting back there with his family. It takes me about 10 minutes to work up the courage to say hello. He's charming and actually chats about the celebration and the store lines and I tell him how great it was with him there. Vince and I take a quick picture with him and run back to our seats. To top it off, he's on our flight!!! So, yeah, I've meat Wicket/Willow/Professor Flitwick/Leprechan/Marvin - how freakin' awesome is that??????

*phew* so yeah that is the short versio right there. My hand actually hurts from typing hahah. Here's an explaination of the photos - remember I still have 2 more rolls to develop and V-mans photos too, so this is just phase one:

Be careful with those Attackticks figures.. My boyfriend and I got them at Wal-Mart and he shot me in the eye with it. (Just shows how mature we are)

dude, I fear I'll never be able to go to one of these. Sounds like you had fun. Then again, I think the only way you could have possibly hada bad time would have been if the whole thing got cancelled once you got out there. :)
