okay people, I need haircut ideas. Something short, sassy, hip yadda yadda. It's getting all flippy and oily and weird so I need to chop it off and get something cool. Must be able to towel dry and go. Gimme pictures, links, anything!

check out the haircut Sarah McLachlan had on her Surfacing CD. Get your hair dark with some red streaks and try it short like that. :)

Damian, this is Sam here...I'm far too wussy to ever dye my hair. And I'm afraid to get it cut that short, since once I had it cut that short and someone called me "sir".

Plus, you have a complexion like mine. When I've done my hair a really dark color people constantly ask me if I'm okay, 'cause I look like I'm very pale and about to faint or something. LOL

yeah, that would be one of my fears. My aunt said she used to dye her hair (which is the same color as mine) and the color would never take so I'm afraid to change it for fear of getting some washed out/too bright color.

Honestly, hair dye has come a *long* way. I won't say it's idiot-proof, but I've found it not only easy to do, but they're really good about turning out the way they're supposed to. It only gets complicated if you try doing it after your hair has already been bleached, dyed or permed, or if you just pick a color that is a drastically different shade than your natural, or just wrong for your skin tone.

I'm not trying to talk you into doing it here! I'm just stating that the old horror stories about dying your hair at home going wrong is not nearly as likely to happen anymore. I think the fear of doing it yourself is something promoted by hair salons who would rather you pay them obscene amounts of money to do what would cost approx $10 to do yourself at home. =P Just my personal opinion! =)
