orangerful: (RotS May 19 // orangerful)

So, some of the Burger Kings around here have jumped the gun, and the promotion that technically wasn't supposed to start until May 16th has already begun. So we had BK for dinner tonight and [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy managed to get me the entire Wave 2 figures (Darth Maul, R2-D2, Chewie, Yoda, and the X-Wing), he also came home with the Anakin/Vader toy!!! Which is supposedly going to be the one that's hard to find. So yay! There are 30 toys to collect and I must have them all!!!!

I tried to take pictures but I'm bad at photographing toys...I dunno why - but you can see them all and what they do at the burger king star wars site. btw - look at the Darth Maul, or any of the image viewer toys, and tell me that wasn't the stupidest place to put the "viewing hole". Hm.

LOST was okay tonight. I used to adore Kate and now I'm just sick of her constant bitchyness. Me me me. blah blah. I still love Sun, she is my favorite person on the island. Charlie/Claire were also quite cute. They are my Lost OTP. (unless you count Locke and the hatch....). Someone needs to make a list of who knows what, so those of us who feel like Hurley can keep track.

[livejournal.com profile] destertale posted links to other people's pictures from The Senator. One of them has been "digitally enhanced" to make the lightsabers look real. It's neat-o. Ah, nerd unite! I don't seem to have sneaked into anyone's photos, but I am the "passerby" mentioned in the second set of pictures when he's looking at Han Solo in carbonite. Good times.

I got my evaluation today to look over, and I'll be meeting with the peeps in charge next week. Got about what I expected. She gave me such a talk before she handed it to me, I thought I was going to get the "needs improvement" on everything. But I ranked "Proficient" throughout, which is good enough for me, considering this is only my first try! So next week I get to sit down and "talk" about it, which I've never done well. When I was a page, Judy would just read the report to me, and ask me if I had anything to say, usually it was just "can I have my candy bar now?"...oh man, I bet I don't get a candy bar anymore! curses. She'll probably tell me I need to get my core ref stuff done. But I don't have very many dates in June at the moment, so I'm thinking I'll work on it then.

oh, [livejournal.com profile] spitefairy, I felt your pain today, was browsing something on starwarsicons and someone posted with a spoiler icon! I was so pissed. It was an image I hadn't seen and I really wish I hadn't . Cant it just be May 19th yet so I don't have to worry anymore!!!

Okay, I'm gonna make Skylor and Snowden a star wars mix now. I have babysitter guilt from ditching them all week.

Word. I keep forgetting which secrets are still "seekret" and which ones are known by a select few and which are general knowledge. Sigh...I think most of my brain cells are storing Lost-related info these days.

Yeah, when Hurley told about Kate I was like "what, everyone does know about...oh riiiiight..." and then Sun wanted it to stay secret and we had Walt and Locke's secret....I need a chart.

I looked at those Burger King toys, and I want some of them. I think it's really cool they've got toys from all the movies. Except Phantom Menace. We don't need a Watto toy, thank you very much.

Maybe a kill Jake Lloyd playset....

I liked Watto, something about his character design intrigued me...probably because he was green and had wings.

You'll notice they didn't make a Young Anakin toy...interesting.

yoda does flips, he's so cute!

oh there's a JarJar, he's a squirter.

My brother has a talking Jar Jar clock we bought for like $2...it is highly amusing...especially if you sneak up on people and trigger him, oh man.

Yay for BK toys! I wasn't too impressed with the viewer toys, either. I'm thinking I will probably use some discretion with this line of toys. :)

I have to admit that I'm a bit lost in your job situation...

I've often wondered about the spoilerific icons... I know you have to/should put those types of icons and/or images under a cut, but then everyone (myself included) uses them all over the place. I've been trying to use ones that don't depict the context of the scene with you, but I know I've fumbled in the past, and for that, I'm sorry.

the viewers are weird, but they are cool. I went in yesterday and just bought a bunch. The original plan was to get doubles to give to my mom, but they had a totally different set and I felt bad buying 2 of everything. They charged me $1.20 per toy, but it was cheaper and healthier than buying a ton of hamburgers. hehe.

My job is fun, it's just that before I became an information person, I was a page, a job I had from sophmore year of high school thru college. (It's when you just put the books away). So it's pretty easy to excell at putting books away after doing it for 7 years. This is my first eval as an info person, which is why I was a bit nervous.

oh, and your icons are never a problem. Anakin has a mullet and gets mad, I know all that. Someone posted his pre-helmet vader look (bald, scarred etc) something that I knew would happen but at the same time, kinda wanted to save the image for the movie. I got a massive spoiler yesterday watching the gaming channel run a preview of Star Wars Legos - apparently that covers ep III, and even though it was all in Legos, I'm pretty sure I just saw a good chunk of the end of the movie.

Is it Wednesday yet?

Heh, I've just been trying to control my spending by only buying the toys if I'm going to need a meal first. I think I went over-board in the toy dept, as it is. :)

Oh... OK. Now I get it. :) Is this job something you want to do as a career? I only re-scanned the dropped-off books so that the system knew they we brought back when I worked my community service at our local library. :)

Whew! :D
I'm a little surprised people would want to use dear ol' Crispykin. He creeps me out. o.O I am equally surprised that some people are using a few particular EpIII images that could really piss off some non-spoiler people. Shocking!

I was so surprised at the level of spoilers that are in the Lego game! Even though I know the majority of them, the game still depicted one I hadn't heard of (one of those, you know it's gonna happen, but don't know exactly how.) Needless to say, I hunted around online, and sure enough, I found a pic quite similar to the set-up in the game. Sad times!

At least your days of trying to remain non-spoiler are merely days away. :) I still have to wait until the following Tuesday. :(

Our Burger King was just sellinng them sans food, I think they know that it will be physically impossible to eat that much BK. Luckily, you can see the figures through the packaging so it's not like you have to guess who you are getting. It officially started today so you might want to spin by a BK and pick up some. (Oh, and if they offer your a Darth Vader, take it, he's the "hard to find" one, only one Vader per box they open).

Yeah, I'm thinking of going with the library as my career. I really enjoy working with people and the whole public library aspect is what I like, the fact that I can get all sorts of questions from little kids looking for Star Wars books, to grown ups writing research papers. Since I'm only part time though, I don't have as many things to do, which is why I have so much free time to browse my LJ while at work. The full time people have projects and such to work one. :-)

3 more days, then we don't have to hold back any more about RotS!!!! So close yet so far. Wednesday is going to be the longest day ever.

little Bri? Which one was that?

Geek Squad has absentee forms that you can print out for Star Wars day haha. Could always see it Thursday night, I'm sure some theaters still have tickets. :-) The only show sold out at The Senator was the 12:01am show, so you could probably see it there.
