close but not quite

Is it just me or is Wesley's head out of proportion? And Lorne's eyes are too sunken in...he looks like he spent the night drinking at Caritas.
We got our asses handed to us online while playing Halo 2 today. Admittedly, I'm out of practice...but still. One guy was just sniping like mad. I was doing pretty well at one point, I managed to get in a ghost and run over all the bad guys while the flag holder made a run for it. But it was all down hill after that game.
The Oscar nominations came out today, I haven't actually looked at them yet as there was only one movie that I obsessed about this year (Garden State) and I had a feeling it wouldn't get any noms. Then![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
kimberleym posted about Natalie Portman being nominated and I assumed it was for GS, but it was not, is was for "Closer" which I never saw because the premise sounded so bad. Don't think it was well reviewed either. So I figure the politics of Hollywood kept Garden State from getting nominations, so they took a major release like "Closer" and nominated her for that. Johnny Depp was nominated for "Finding Neverland' as well, which I'm convinced he'll win as a consolation prize for losing last year to Sean Penn. (I'm sorry, bawling your eyes out is nice and all, but comedy is hard and Sparrow was a unique creation...).
Prof. Loviglio e-mailed a bunch of us grads to ask about website for the new AMST Media & communications website he's setting up. He says he has the "obligatory left-wing blog" section up, but wanted some other sites with "lively & unique" takes on communication, media, surveillance, etc. Any suggestions? I figured I'd just point him to livejournal and show him the different comms available...but honestly I'm so locking into LJ right now, I'm not sure what other sites exist? Suggestions? (heck, if you think your own site qualifies, let me know and I'll suggest it).
Anyway, I need to hit the hay. Watching Snowden tomorrow morning, so I'm gonna need my energy. Plus, it's been a LONG day. toodles.
