orangerful: (incredibles phew // orangerful)
So, I wore my Darth Vader shirt over to babysit today. The kids thought it was quite cool. Snowden kept saying "Darf Vader, bad, now good!" since I guess she watched the end of RotJ. I took over my pictures from Celebration II, which Skylor got a kick out of. I wish I had actual spending money, I'd so buy him some Star Wars toys. Maybe once I'm out of Xmas debt I'll go over to Kmart and get some of those big ones we saw for him and Snowy. I'm still insanely happy that I turned them into star wars fans (especially since Monica admitted to not having seen Star Wars since it's original release!)

We watched a good 80% of "Definate Article" today, so I have a few ideas for Eddie Izzard icons now. That man cracks me up. The entire bit about playing in his school band makes me laugh so hard, because it's just all true. Especially when he talks about being 3rd clarinet. "1st clarinet gets the melody....second clarinet gets the harmony....third clarinet gets all the notes left over!...and the only way to make it interesting is to play them really LOUD!". Ah man. I miss band. haha.

Party at Crofton library tomorrow evening. I think I might stop in and see whats up, hopefully [livejournal.com profile] destertale will be there as we hardly ever get to chat for longer than 15 minutes when we work together. I need to buy a "goofy" gift for the gift exchange, so I might pop into walmart and see if they have any DVDs for cheap. Maybe something Mel Brooks like (I think Spaceballs is only $10).

I have this weird urge to have a big party. Our apartment really isn't big enough, but I just want to invite everyone over at once! I don't know what we'd do, but I have so many friends that I feel like I hardly ever get to see, I just want everyone to come over and hang out. I was pondering a birthday party but then people would think I was just doing it for presents, but I would say not to bring gifts, we're just gonna hang out. *sigh* maybe it's just a phase since I've actually been working regularly.

Mom has offered to take us out to dinner on Saturday night! We have to choose a resaurant close by. AD's folks are taking us to P.F. Chang's on Sunday, for his brother's birthday. Weekend is already booked. Crazy. (not to mention I work 9-5 on saturday at Provinces branch).

Anyhoo, need to get to bed! I made a handful of icons this week so I thought I'd share them:
Wicked, Emma Watson and then some )

I I've started into Buffy Season 7. Watched the rest of "Beneath You" today, which I started while babysitting wednesday night. But GRR ARGH turns out my DVD is damaged! It freaked out during the last 10 minute and was skipping all over. So I think I'll take it with me when I go to buy the library gift this afternoon. It's that stupid fold out packaging, the discs are constantly popping out and sliding all over. Happened with my Angel season 3 as well.

Anyhoo - on the plus side, i did pick up on some stuff in that episode that I think probably flew over my head the first time. Subtle things that either the director/writer and/or Marsters did with Spike in the scene in the alley. First, he runs like old spike when he's following Buffy, with his arms out and his feet up, very vamp like. Then when he starts to fight the demon he grabs a large (duh) spike. Then we he stabs the worm demon and it turns back into Ronnie, you can see the horror and realization of what he's done. Then when he's talking to Buffy he twirls the spike in his hands, just like he twirled the pool cue back in season 5. Marsters is far too good at playing crazy.

Found out Starz! Theater is running LotR:RotK all this week three times a day. hehe. It's on right now so I've got it playing in the background while I type. We watched a chunk of it on Wednesday as well. And I watched the commentary last week...*sigh* I guess I'm addicted.

[livejournal.com profile] kimberleym was super lucky and got to see a preview screening of the Hitchhiker's Guide movie coming out this summer. I'm so jealous. I need to read them all over again, though I'm pretty sure I still have the first book memorized. I used to have a cassette tape that I made of the TV miniseries and I listened to it constantly, and it's pretty much word for word to book. I'm so excited about this summer's movies - Serenity, HHGTTG, RotS...even the War of the Worlds remake has me interested. I hope one of them comes out while we're in Indianapolis for Celebration III so we have something to do that Friday night!
