orangerful: (okey-day! // orangerful)
Well, twas quite a day today. I got ready to go to work this morning, and about 10 minutes before I have to leave, I hear the mailman outside. So I go to check the mailbox and lo and behold, our sketch that we special ordered at C3 had arrived!!! Jeff Chandler of ArtGecko Studios is THE MAN! It's a beautiful sketch, he even added color to it. Just looked so awesome. So that had me pumped all day to talk about RotS with my co-workers.

The 5 hours at the library went by pretty fast. It was pouring down rain so no one was really in the library. Which means I read a lot of my f-list over and over, and e-mails. DCSWCC was very active today, discussing the finer (and vaguer) points of the film. When I got home, we did a run to the art store to get frames for our sketch, my Yoda character key from C3, and our C3 poster. Michael's had everything, plus I snagged some scrapbooking stuff to work on my Episode III scrapbook. Yes, instead of a C3 scrapbook, I'm just going to make an Ep III book so I can include the toy midnight madness, camping out for tickets and opening night all in there.

Then we dashed into 2 Burger Kings, Target, and Toys R Us, but we didn't find anything we needed. We did pick up the novelization of RotS though, as I heard it had a few extra bits that didn't make the movie. I enjoyed the novelization of the last two movies, thought it helped to fill in some of the holes, and I've heard there's a bit more to Padme's story in the book, among other stuff. So we got home around 7:30 with our bags of goodies, framed our three pictures. They look quite cool. Unfortunately, I'm not smart enough to turn the flash off when I photograph stuff, so ignore the huge glare on the poster:

Then [livejournal.com profile] dstntp1lgr1m said he was home alone and bored, so we told him to come be bored with us, so we had a little hang out session for a few hours. Talked about anything and everything as usual. :-) He brought over a few CDs (Garbage, NIN, and Pearl Jam's Hits) for my to listen to, so I've ripped them and will add them to my iPod.

Oh, and for some reason I have no adult books on my reading list at the moment - I'm listening to "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" in my car, reading Harry Potter & GoF when I go to bed, and then reading the children's series "Jedi Apprentice" with my breakfast! It's crazy!

[livejournal.com profile] spitefairy made a new LJ comm called [livejournal.com profile] goodswicons, an elite icon community for star wars icons. I just applied, which was a bit nerve-wracking. Had to pick my personal favorites...favorites from my own children! We'll see if they even compare to the others. The layout for the comm is really cool though, the characters in the header change!! how did she do that! That's what I should do for my journal....then I can have a different fandom represented each time I visit.

Anyhoo - off to bed. I have work tomorrow then my co-worker buddy is throwing a MST3K party! That should be fun. He asked me to bring over our gamecube controllers so we could play some Mario Party. yay!

actually, feathers all over. I'm at the Linthicum branch today and it's been very quiet. It's a beautiful day outside, that's probably why. Nice and sunny and warm. To keep busy, I've been helping set up a summer reading program project - putting feathers in baggies. It looks like they are making little birdies out of the printer rolls and feathers. They will be cute, but man, that bag of feathers had a lot of duds. I was doing it for 3 hours straight so there's quite a large pile of baggies behind me.

There's a little star wars display set up here by a local 12 year old. He's got some of his figures in the display case. Saw some little kids peering in at them earlier. "whoa, look at that alien, who look at that!" (he has the nexu in there chomping on a battle droid!)

I made it into [livejournal.com profile] goodswicons!! Now I just have to make some good star wars icons...I have a bunch of RotS bases that I made the other night, which needs some text and tweaking. I need to work on blending my text and getting the hang of the whole anti-alias thing. I was just looking at the jar-jar icon I'm using for this post and the text does seem a bit blurred at the edges...

la la la, it's so quiet. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy and [livejournal.com profile] dstntpl1grm both did a little music survey but I can't pick a band to start with! I get outta here at 5 then I'm going over to Bill's party. I kinda want to eat a burrito before I go over...I'm hungry, all I've eaten today was a bowl of Crispix and a granola bar. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy made burritos last night and they were so yummy.

hm...maybe someone has posted to my f-list by now...
