Star Wars in Concert
Jul. 17th, 2010 07:35 pmOMG that was SO much fun!!!!! I really wasn't sure what to expect but I had such a blast! I mean LOOK how close we were:

Second row back!!!!! I mean, we could actually hear the orchestra for real, didn't have to hear it through the speakers like everyone behind us. And I think every orchestra should have a floating camera or two so you can see the musicians in the back!
I loved all the montages. I recognized the "music videos" for 'Across the Stars' and 'Battle of Heroes', and I think those video clearly inspired the idea of the whole concert. And we all know I'm a sucker for montages. I started to tear up during "Leia's Theme" and "Yoda's Theme", two of my favorite pieces of Star Wars music.
Anthony Daniels was Anthony Daniels - adorable. My mom said he could be David Tenant's father and started saying they should cast him in Doctor Who. My Dad was so into it that when Daniels said "May the Force be with You - Always" at the end of the show, my dad yelled back "May the Force be with YOU!"
And, of course, it wouldn't be a Star Wars event without some swag - I picked up a lanyard with a little lightsaber at the end (perfect for my Comic-Con badge, yes?), a 4-pack of buttons, 2 babydoll t-shirts, and the program.
Total blast, if it's coming to a town near you, I def. recommend grabbing some tickets - even the cheap seats would be worth it for this production. It's so much fun to hear that music played LIVE, ya know?
