Friday Five: Sleep
Jan. 10th, 2014 11:14 am1. How many hours of sleep do you like to get in a night?
I usually get to bed between 12-1am. On Mondays and Tuesdays I need to be up by 7:15 to get to work on time, and I am usually fine on those 6 hours of sleep. BUT I work evenings on Wednesday and Thursday and I tend to now wake up until 10-10:30 when I don't set the alarm, so I figure I am also catching up on sleep those days too. I am more of a night person anyway so I would rather stay up late than wake up early.
2. How many hours of sleep can you survive on indefinitely?
I probably need at least 5 if I am going to survive the day without harming anyone. I feel like when I've gone to conventions, 5 was the limit...but I would need a "make up" day. It's why I always plan a buffer day between getting back from a trip and going back to work - so I can sleep!
3. Do you enjoy napping?
NOPE! I hate napping, I wake up feeling cranky and more tired than before. This is usually the first clue that I am, in fact, getting sick, if I actually want to take a nap.
4. The average amount of time it takes a person to fall asleep is seven minutes--do you tend to need more or less time than that?
Hm, that is a good question. Seven minutes is probably about right, I know it takes me awhile to get comfortable and get my brain to shut down. But unless I'm stressed out about something or just not tired, 7-10 minutes seems right.
5. If you were offered a pill that would enable you to sleep only two hours out of every twenty-four and remain fully functional, but you could never sleep more than that, would you take it?
NOPE! I enjoy sleeping, I love being all warm and curled up in the covers. And it feels like a treat when I get to sleep in a bit. I'd prefer a pill that would let me get all my work done in two hours and still get paid for a full day LOL.
