Books read in April --- Librarian fail!
Apr. 30th, 2014 11:41 amSo, I didn't read ANY books this month. I listened to Neil Gaiman's Fortunately the Milk on the way to Boston (it was ONE disc long) but that was the only book I consumed completely this month. I KNOW! FOR SHAME! I honestly just haven't found anything that GRABBED me, ya know? I picked up Spectacular Now after we watched the movie and sorta started that...but barely. I have Charm and Strange on my desk but it's been a chatty lunch break so I've barely gotten 20 pages into that. And you'd think with all the comics I have on hold, I could have found time to finish ONE of them! NOPE! **sigh** ah well, here is my ONE review for the month:
Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
We listened to the audiobook (1 CD long). It felt like Gaiman had spent a week binge watching Doctor Who, then flipped through his copy of "Hitchhiker's Guide" before sitting down at his typewriter (I imagine Gaiman still uses a typewriter, don't you? So much more romantic though I'm sure he's on a PC like the rest of us) and cranking this out over the course of a few days, giggling like a maniac the entire time. Quirky, light, and fun - perfect for a family road trip.
