Whoever says these sites are dead clearly doesn't have my friends list! My brilliant idea to sign up for email subscriptions to active LJ/DW filled my inbox up! I just had to speed-read through a bunch of posts while drinking my coffee.
Of course, it doesn't help that I took this week off so I'm not chilling at my work computer and looking for a 5 minute brain break, which is how I end up reading most entries nowadays. I haven't had a break in awhile and I looked at the calendar and no one had taken Thanksgiving off so I claimed it. Tim went ahead and took the time off too. Of course, the temperature dropped way down so my original idea of going hiking went away pretty quick. But we did run some important errands, rake up the back yard and then play video games for hours on end so, pretty good.
I made Tim watch 'Baby Driver' which I think I liked even more the second time round (even if seeing Kevin Spacey on my TV makes me feel uncomfortable now). But I could really hear the music this time and also the ringing in Baby's ears when he lost his headphones. I watched all the special features too - those stunt drivers are insane and the contraptions they made to film it all were just so cool! Practical effects just look better, especially with car chases.
After not hearing anything from my Mom, I finally emailed and asked if she wanted me to host Thanksgiving again this year. So I've also been randomly tidying up here and there. Tomorrow I will really focus on getting things ready - mostly clearing off all the crap around the dining room table since we never eat there. It is mostly just piles of junk mail that Tim needs to sort through (I toss anything with my name on it out immediately) and a few other odds and ends. Also need to vacuum and make sure the kitties haven't left and secret hairballs tucked away. Good times.
I'm hoping my brother comes over. I haven't seen him in awhile. He has been depressed for about a year now, a break up that left him feeling lost. He still lives with my parents but he is will be going to Navy training in February. Mostly depends on his mood on the day of if he decides to come over. But I really hope he does. I told him he could drive himself and stay the night so we could hang out and talk...hm, guess this means I need to clean out the guest bedroom too!
Okay, time to do the one project for today (staining an IKEA drawer set we got for Tim to store his socks) and then back to gaming! :D
