what a day. Woke up this morning in New Jersey. Watched AD's cousin attempt to paddle around the lake in the back yard. Then we put all of his birthday goodies into the mustang and started the drive back home - the drive to the TV.

On the way, we stopped at IKEA. The new TV would be far too big for our current "entertainment cabinet" so we looked for a TV stand that could handle the 154 lbs of television. Plus, we were going to need something to hold the gaming systems, VCR, DVDs, and video games. So we went into IKEA and actually managed to find all of those things. Then we had to figure out how to fit them into the back of a Mustang. Luckily, we had very nice weather today, so we put the top down and crammed them into the back. The bookcase stuck out a bit, but the drive back to the apartment was only 30 minutes. We survived, tore down the old and set up the new, then called my folks, since we needed their van to carry the thing back to the apartment.

It's completely unnecessary. 35" TV. But you know what, Star Wars looks really awesome on that big screen. And the video games are pretty. So yeah, unnecessary, but very VERY cool.

AD also asked for a new CD player, so we don't have to listen to ours squeak anymore. Now we have a 5-disc changer. So spoiled.

And the stuffed toy Yoda that I ordered at Celebration III finally came!!! He's so cute!

holy guacamole - it's 2am and I gotta work tomorrow! I need to get my beauty rest - the Crofton library is not for the weak!

tee-hee, thanks! I can't believe we actually got the TV! I was pretty much in shock for the whole day. I still am! It's huge! RotK was on before I went to work today, Gollum was lifesize! hahaha

what exactly is that blue thing from the picture of "set up the new" and to the right of the TV in the "unnecessary but very cool" picture? is it like a thing for a game system? just wondering, it looks neat.

it's actually a really cool thing (http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10101&storeId=12&productId=11144&langId=-1&parentCats=10104*10174) we picked up at IKEA to hold the game systems. It just worked perfectly since it had 3 spaces. AD wanted something with wheels so we could roll it forward when we were playing, then push it back against the wall when we were just watching TV.

yay, thank you!

I know, the U stand thingy is so neat-o, though it doesn't actually match anything in the apartment. But it's just so perfect for the systems!

You should come hang with us one weekend. Star Wars on this screen is so sweet.
