downtime at Provinces
Jul. 23rd, 2005 01:51 pmMy Eddie Izzard gathering is tonight!!! I'm so excited! I hope all goes well. I just can't wait to laugh. Eddie is always fun to watch with new people. I just hope someone speaks french!
It's relatively quiet at Provinces today. Everyone is on the computers. Time is going VERY SLOWLY. I brought a peach to eat on my 15 minute break, my tummy is all rumbly. I finished Secrets of the Jedi this morning while eating my apple jacks. Yes, I read HBP the rest of the day, but I have been so insanely close to the end of that book for so long now, I just wanted to return it! Plus I have 6 items on hold right now that I need to pick out (though 2 of them are just the RotS picture books I ordered back in May). Volume 2 of Y the last man finally came in!!! I've had Vol 3 forever, I was worried I'd have to return it before 2 showed up! I shall be picking that up tomorrow.
Babysitting last night went well. I managed to find a copy of Clone Wars at Crofton, so we watched that. I think they enjoyed it. It really is a good vegging out thing to watch, all action, no plot. haha. Then we went online and printed out "how to draw" star wars stuff from starwars.com. Skylor drew a General Greivous and an Obi-Wan. Snowden colored in Padme. We read a little bit of the first HP, which Skylor has just started reading with his mom. Well, I read at him. I think he pretty much spaced out. Good times. I was so tired when I got home, I ate a little bit of dinner then passed out.
and now I'm here. Watching the clock. Is it time to go sooooon?

wow, good post
Date: 2005-07-24 05:30 am (UTC)I just got back from a friend's house. I mention Eddie, and she says, "NO EDDIE IZZARD!" She doesn't like the foul-mouthed guy in the dress. Heather likes him. Erin doesn't.
I haven't shown Kim yet.
But I did show her Y-The Last Man today. Just for frame 2 of page 1 of each issue, where the "screen" cinematically goes blank for the caption. I've always liked that part.
Re: wow, good post
Date: 2005-07-24 05:59 am (UTC)I'm so freakin HAPPY that Y showed up. When I went to look for 'Serenity' the other day, the comic shop had all the Y trade paperbacks on display. I was *this* close to breaking down and buying them so I could read it. But I resisted -- it was a good thing it showed up on my library card the next day! haha.
I think Kim would like Eddie, he's got a groovy way of thinking and she seems like a groovy chick.

Date: 2005-07-24 09:05 pm (UTC)Anyway, do you have season 7 yet? If so, could you make me an animated one from "Chosen" that has Buffy rising up and says 'I want you...to get out of my face' followed by the shot of her getting the sithe back, then knocking those 5 vamps off the cliff? I dunno if that's insanely complicated.

Date: 2005-07-24 11:15 pm (UTC)yes, now I have an excuse to watch 'Chosen' ! hehe

Date: 2005-07-25 06:13 am (UTC)I'm so going to have to check out that 'how to draw' stuff on the official site. Thanks for mentioning it, I totally forgot about it! :D
Ooohhh... meme... Hee!

Date: 2005-07-26 05:13 pm (UTC)Anyway, no luck yet, but that's mostly my fault as I keep forgetting the comic shop doesn't open until 12 and I end up being "in the area" at 11 and just having to drive home. I have a bad feeling this will be a Trade Paperback purchase. I'm not giving up yet.
