relatively quiet here at the library tonight. I have so many things I want to do tonight and tomorrow. Wanna plays some WoWz, wanna make some icons, wanna show my parents my hair....

Serenity drops down to 871 theaters in the US this weekend. So sad. I need to take my dad to see it, I really think he'd like it. Only day off I have this weekend is Sunday though. And checked and Muvico still has the show...just want to see it again before it's gone from the big screen.

a lot of the LOST fans are complaining about this season of the show. I'm starting to agree. It's just not moving. The first two episodes were great but these last few it feels like they are attempting to build up to something but they are having trouble with the actual build up. There's a two week haitus now so maybe when they come back, the "action packed" episodes will return. Not that they were ever really "action packed" but we they definately had tension, and we've been tensionless recently.

Got disc 1 of Veronica Mars today from Netflix so I can start on that one. I hope I like it. Perri likes it. Joss Whedon likes it! I gotta like it! haha.

I have a zit right under my nose...it's very annoying. It wasn't so bad when I left today but now it's just gross. I hate when they sneak up on my like that. It's probably from the lotion I put on my face the other day. It's enough to make me want to wear makeup...okay no it's not. I'm too lazy.

30 more minutes! Then time for dinner! And then WoWz!!

You know, my philosophy on LOST is that it is what it is. It's never been fast-paced, and the first season was really slow, as well. Okay, that's redundant, but still, if you've seen the first season, you know what you're getting. They didn't even show us the monster! All we got was a mechanical sound effect, which I suppose is enough, but it demonstrates how they do things.

I do like that the show is quite slow. Granted, on one level, it's frustrating, but on the other, it makes revelations more valuable, and extends the life of the show, giving us more good episodes without running the story out.

And I think the episodes are good. This is a character drama masquerading as an adventure show. Joss Whedon often mentions the flobotinum of Buffy, and Alfred Hitchcock was a fan of the McGuffin in his plots. Both of these concepts are saying that the things we think the story is about are nothing more than excuses for character development. Nobody really cares about the Holy Grail. We're in it for the peril, the adventure, the one-liners, or the silly jokes (depending on which film you're watching).

So LOST isn't really about the plot, or the monster, or the mysteries, or the island, or the Others, or the hatch, but about how the 14 (13) of them deal with the situation, and what went on before. If it was about the island or the plot, we wouldn't get the seemingly-pointless flashbacks about how Sun and Jin met, or at the very least, they'd have told us what caused Locke's paralysis.

I disagree with the tension thing, too. How could a show with Michelle (ARGH I HATE HER) Rodriguez not be tense. You know when Jin pops Mr. Echo in the face? I'm still waiting for Sawyer to do that to her. She's just plain awful!

And the Irish guy caused tension. Granted, we're not talking Ethan tension here, but that's only for special occasions.

Plus, I thought the Ethan thing ended too quickly. Anti-climax, I think.

Anyways, I really look forward to LOST now. It's the only show I watch on first-run TV.

And now that I'm at your LJ, I've finally figured out where I saw that picture on the internet of Claire writing in her journal. :-P

That is exactly right. It's just that, well, with all the pressure on this season, I might be watching it with a harsher eye. Sun & Jinn are my favorite characters on the show right now, so I liked last week's flashbacks, it was actually the island scenes I was bored with.

I think what it might be is that they have SO many stories going on right now, that focusing on one per episode makes you feel like you're missing out on something else. Yet at the same time, you couldn't focus on more than one because there's not enough time!

I still love LOST. I'm not bitter or angry at it. Though I feel concerned about when they come back and "one of the castaways will die!" thing. I mean, it won't be Sawyer, he has too many rabid fangirls who will burn down ABC. It can't be Michael, he has to find Walt and redeem himself as a father. I'm worried about Jinn. But I pretty much believe it will be just one of the random people from the tailend group. What do you think?

I think that if it comes down to it, they'll kill someone from the tail end (maybe the blonde woman). Killing another member of the main cast so soon would be a mistake, in my opinion, although in this case, that doesn't count for much. They want to keep us on our toes, and I wouldn't put it past them to do it Joss-style.

Still, it doesn't feel like the right time for someone to die.

yeah...now I want to go back and here how they worded that preview. Because I wouldn't put it past them to do a fake death either. I hate it when they advertise stuff like that! Ruins the surprise!

ha ha, I put make-up on to cover up acne too. lol And yeah, I never put lotion on my face, for fear of what just happened to you. My skin is greasy enough. blech. And lotion on my face just feels very weird. I can't stand it.

yeah, I'm not a lotion person by trade. Usually it makes me sneeze a lot. But I get these stupid little dry spots in the fall/winter and I'm never smart enough to squeeze a tiny bit of lotion in my hand and just apply it there, instead I squeeze way to much and end up rubbing it over my entire face. *headdesk*

yeah I mostly just need lotion on my hands. They get so rough they bleed at the knuckles in winter-time.
