Just a reminder to my star wars collectin' peeps all over the country - the new Burger King promotions starts Nov 7th (Monday).

Speaking of collecting - I came home with a good haul today from the DCSWCC meeting. Oddly enough, none of the stuff I got was Star Wars related...hm? I took pictures because I enjoy showing off. When the meeting was starting, one of the members ran up to me and tossed 4 mysteriously shaped baggies at me. On first glance, they looked like some sort of shady drug smuggling packages. But surprise surprise! I opened them up to find trading cards! ANd lots of them!

For some reason my Merc Jayne pictures did not come out very well :( Stupid flash. And I'm too lazy to pull all the stuff back out. I do have Merc Jayne though. I think he might be to scale! He's much taller than Buffy and even a bit taller than Mal....

After the meeting, we went to Broadneck Highschool for a marching band competition that [livejournal.com profile] zaubervz was marching in with the Meade Band. It was fun, we got there about 2 bands before them, so we got to see what they were up against. They did a very good job - their entire show was Frank Sinatra music! They had a great time hamming it up too! That band has come a long way since my day, the new director really knows what he's doing.

I tried to convince [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy to drive to New York with me on Friday or Saturday so we could go see Eddie Izzard's new "Work in Progress" show that he's taking around. It's some new stuff some old stuff as he works out the kinks in his next show. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy did not seem interested. *sigh* My car needs a tune up anyway so I probably shouldn't be driving it 5 hours away. Plus, if Eddie is doing this show, then the real thing shouldn't be too far away.

So back to work tomorrow. I actually just got Wednesday off, they cancelled my 2-5 shift. Which is good but annoying since I was going there at 5 for the PTH party anyway! hehe. But oh well, I'll get to goof off all day and then just show up for cake and goodies...not a bad plan.

Now to play with my toys!

Heh. our BK has started early. So far, we've gotten a Clone Trooper (G picked him over Old Ben *le sigh*) and the snow speeder. Oh, and the TPM watch. :)

That is so unfair that Eddie is a mere 5 hours away from you! :D

Congrats on your newly acquired loot! Did you know that they're making a Galactic Heroes set with a Clone Trooper and with Dark Side Anakin? It's the same model as the other RotS one, but with wee yellow eyes. *squees*

ooooh you've got one of THOSE burger kings...one of the virginia BK's jumped the gun too, caused a bit of a panic in the star wars club, we all ran out to our local BKs to find nothing but signage. But I'm really for BK tomorrow, might do lunch. I have to get my Yoda watch and all the toys to complete my set. This is the only set I've actually BEEN complete on!

I think if Eddie was in Philly I'd just go for it, but NYC is just such crazy place, I really don't think I could drive around there. So I'm over it haha. If he does a real show in NYC, then I'll drop everything and attempt to get up there but since this is more of a preview run, I'm sure there will be enough locals to fill the theater.

I actually have the Dark Side Anakin! I tried to take a picture of his EVIL!EYES but they came out really blurry and he looked like regular anakin. He came with the blue clone. I also got a new Obi with the orange clone. He's all singed from Mustafar. Most of the new GH toys are repacks and repaints. But for some reason, I love repainted clones!

We have GOT to find that Obi-Wan and Boga Jedi Force set! I hope it comes out for christmas!

Yeah, and the staff have been less than accommodating when B asked which characters they had on-site. (The guy was like, "There all from SW..." Duh! ¬_¬ Ooh... good luck on completing your set! :D

Heh, my buddy JK from work is from NY, and from what she says, you're right not to want to drive there. o_O But still, I'm so jealous you live in a area of the country where you have such large cities by you. All we have is L.A., really... besides Vegas, which I have no desire to visit.

So the wee Sith Lord is out already??? I must add him to my shopping list when I go out for your Yoda snow globe! :D You are a far kinder woman than I... I try to limit my purchase of the clones because I'm still miffed at them for turning on the Jedi. ;P I'll have to look up the Obi/Boga Jedi Force set... I bet it's cute. Part of me wishes I picked up the Yoda when I saw him months ago. :)

yeah, I've avoided driving in NYC as much as I can. First time I went with a friend, we parked in NJ and took the train into town. Then every other time has been with Adrian's parents, so his dad drove, and he's used to it so he goes for it. It's scary as hell in the backseat of the car, I'd be eaten alive if I was behind the wheel!

haha thanks! I try to have as many good days as possible so when I have bad days, they don't hit me as hard. Plus, my job is pretty much the lowest stress job out there, so it's hard to have a bad day haha. I mean, what can I complain about? "Oh man, that free cake in the back room was just vanilla not chocolate, I HATE LIFE!"...yeah, just doesn't carry the weight of say a school teacher who has to deal with parents. ;)

Plus, how can I be unhappy with all these TOYS!

Cool! I'm glad you had a good time. Sorry about Eddie :( I'm sure you're right though, it will go on the road. Question, did you find someone to take Sinestro off your hands?

I had to leave the meeting early so I didn't really get time to ask about Sinestro. One of my buddies was interested but she wasn't sure if her husband had him already. so he's just gonna hide in my closet until the next meeting hehe.
