good shows go bye bye or just go bad

Ugh - FOX is pulling Arrested Development and Kitchen Confidential until December! They've cut back on AD's episodes and they've already told KC that they probably won't renew it for a full season.
WTF! Does FOX hack into my TV, find the shows I'm enjoying and just decide to cancel them! I'm shocked that House has lasted this long! But it's drama (with amusing snark, but a drama at the core)! If they cancel AD and KC, I shall have no more comedies left, save for Family Guy and that will make me very sad. *cries* Why can I not find intelligent funny shows anymore!!! WHY!?

and now, the LOST rant:


I was never a huge Shannon fan, but I felt that of all the characters, she had a lot of growing to do and a lot of story to tell. This last episode felt like an attempt to cram that entire story into 40 minutes and then bump someone off to get viewers for sweeps week. I hope that the writers can justify this action with story OR that they don't actually let her stay dead.

There are several rumors floating around - she's not really dead (that wound looked real enough), Ana Lucia didn't shoot her, someone stabbed her and that's who Ana shot at (hm...guess I should have taped the episode), something inside the hatch will be able to save her (though jimithingy pointed out that was more likely to be Sawyer's fate).

It just seems dumb to kill her off, she was finally getting some layers to her character. We were finally starting to understand what Sayid was seeing in her. And SAYID! What will happen to his character now that his second "true love" has been shot down? We're going to end up with some very mopey characters on this show. And that can be a real drag.

The Charlie/Locke dynamic was interesting. When Locke said that little stab about being a "heroin addict" and Charlie sorta flinched, that was a good moment. I hope we find out what's got Charlie so cranky recently. I'm guessing we'll find out in his backstory that he raised a brother or sister or other family member since he keeps trying to tell Claire how to care for her child. Claire/Charlie was THE 'ship for first season, but now the sweet make-believe peanut butter boyfriend is turning into a bit of a jerk. what is up with that?

I'm looking forward to next week's episode, I want to know what happened to Ana Lucia. She wasn't a total bitca when Jack met her in the airport. What happened on the island to turn her into such a cold hearted person?? I actually kinda like her. She's feisty. I like that actress though. She's always playing feisty chicks. I do wish she's back down a bit, but maybe once she's at the camp with our regular people she'll calm down. The whole jungle thing is making her jumpy.

Hm....yes, several other people on my flist have posted about this but I wanted to try and get my thoughts out there too. :)

Yeah, I'm just glaring at the writers now and demanding that they elaborate on some things...Ana Lucia's deal, what the eff up with Charlie, and why in the world Shannon's death was really necessary.

yeah, next week might really make or break the show, they gotta recover from what's sorta been a...how shall we say, sorta predictable season? I mean, I really enjoyed the first two episodes but it's sorta just been treading water since then. Next week needs to be action packed AND full of information...you know writers, that whole MOVING THE PLOT FORWARD THING!
