I totally forgot to check RebelScum for Buffy figure pictures! They have some shots from ToyFare up. Looks like we'll be getting some Xanders this year, plus a few Cordelia's. I really want Primeival Buffy - she comes with DOVES!

and OMG - Labrynth figures!!! Well, just two - one of the little goblins on a mount and a goblin just chillin'. There's also a few Dark Crystal busts on that page, but I have to say I'm not a fan of busts - feels like I'm only getting half a toy. But still - OMG OMG OMG! Now to figure out how I get these into my hot little hands!

Oh, okay, and I finished the second TPB of Joss Whedon's 'Astonishing X-Men' and I think I might need some help from the hardcore comic fans

Was I supposed to know who that group was at the end of issue 12? If so, please tell me. If not, then I'll just wait until Joss tells me in the next TPB. Otherwise, I loved both of these books, I read the entire second book today while on break at work, I couldn't tear myself away! Sooo much fun. I love how you can hear Joss in the characters. Makes me smile.

Draft for the Slayage conference in May is up on the site. Now I really REALLY want to go to this. Who wants to come with?

that's actually the 3rd puppet angel to be released, and I've missed the first two each time, they sold out in pre-order (which seems ridiculous, I mean, if you run out in pre-order, make some more!!!!) and I'm not totally thrilled with vamp plushie angel....I dunno....need to wait a few years and see if all the bastards who bought them just to sell on ebay drop their prices.

I do want one eventually to cuddle and love and call my own. But right now I'd rather buy 5 action figures with that cash :D

They are the Hellfire Club. Just a group of rich and powerful mutants who want more money and power. The women dress in lingerie.

*raises hand on the comic stuff* lol! the assessment of the hellfire club is pretty accurate. *giggles* i don't KNOW but they were involved in the dark phoenix saga...so they might be represented a bit in the next x-men movie. even if not, that might be what got it put in joss's head again. ;) if you'd just like SENT ME THE BOOKS, i'd be happy to talk to ya about ANNNNYYYYTHING you want. LOL!

oh my god i want a plushie puppet angel more than i can express. i always wanted a bamf doll too, but that might be more hard-core x-men for ya. ;)

There is however a new figure. Cassandra Nova.

Spoilers!!! ( But not for the series you are reading as Joss expects everybody to know this part)

Cassandra Nova is sort of Professor X's female , evil twin. Kind of. She may in fact be a desiembodied force of evil who has a completely different kind of conciousness then ours, or she could be an alien. Or the next order of being, as far beyond mutants, as mutants are beyond baseline humans. Or something. It's confusing and complicated. Basically she kicks 8 different kinds of ass. She was also well and defeated by the X-men. Or she got away completely. ( did I mention the confusing part.)

Some of the confusion is becasue Marvel seems bent on ignoring or re-writing large sections of Grant Morrison's run. Which is par for the course in comics, but saddens me becasue Grant's run rocked on toast. ah well.

Ends un-asked for lecture...

Hey! The Labyrinth and Dark Crystal toys are so cool! And the Dark Crystal ones aren't as 'busty' (heh heh) as other ones I've seen. They look more complete to me...sorta. :) I want the little goblin guy!

Oh! I still need to read the second TPB! But yeah, if it's Hellfire club, that's one of the possible Pheonix/Dark Pheonix story lines. The Pheonix saga has been done and re-done several different ways. I'm wondering how they're going to handle it in the next movie! o_O;

bugger me, seems I need to read up on this Cassandra Nova person and possibly the dark phoenix run...but which one!

And I enjoy your lectures. As one of the newly initiated into the realm of graphic novels/comics/sequential art, it's pretty much impossible for me to catch up, so your cliff notes (or aquino notes as it were) really help me out!

they are cool. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy is afraid of them though haha. I'm already tempted to buy them and set them on my desk at work.

The little goblin guy is my favorite though, if I was only allowed to get one, it would be him. :)

Hm....now I need to Marina all the pheonix saga books. But which ones!!!

KC said that she just read a really great version of the Pheonix Saga but I can't log into EVIL MySpace to send her a message to ask her for the info. So if you see her wandering the branch, grab her and ask! I must Marina this item NOW!

for some reason I knew the name "hellfire club" but I didn't know why. Perhaps from the dark phoenix stuff in the cartoon? or just random mentions of them in other comics. Hm....

Yeah, how about you get a library card and then check them out of the library :P Most libraries are starting to carry comics now, new generation of librarians purchasing books and all that. :)

I want plushie Angel too. But I want the first one that came out that was regular Angel, not vamp or battle damaged. Stupid limited editions. WHY!!!

I love how serious that entry in Wikipedia is. haha.

Women dress in lingerie huh? Wonder if Cassaday suggested bringing them into the story just so he could draw more skimpy outfits.

(I love that line that Kitty has when she sees Emma Frost, saying she was busy putting clothes on hahahaa.)

i think they were in the cartoon. *nods* that's been a while though, so i won't swear to it.

i am content getting some things from the library, but i think i'll need to own these. *sighs*

they have the vamp and battle damaged PUPPETS as plushies? i don't know...the damaged would be pretty funny. HRM. it would be hard to choose, but yeah, they shouldn't make the plushies limited. DARN THEM!
