Unaltered Star Wars trilogy to be released in September

It's a little scary how happy this makes me. I can't wipe this silly grin off my face.

EDIT: And just for the record, I thought I'd tally up how many versions of star wars I own (or will own, come September).

Star Wars Original Trilogy - BETAMAX version (full screen)
Star Wars OT "remastered" VHS (widescreen) in pretty box with 'Lucas the Creative Impulse' booklet inside
Star Wars OT "Special Edition" VHS (widescreen) ooooh silver
Star Wars OT DVDs (widescreen) Ooooh silver...again!

Star Wars The Phantom Menace VHS Collector's Edition (VHS & cell from movie...mine has Mace Windu!)
Star Wars TPM DVD
Star Wars AotC DVD
Star Wars RotS DVD

*giggles* it reminds me of those counters for people who've stopped smoking. "i haven't bought a copy of star wars in _____ days and i've saved _____ money."

i'm already making a list of things i can buy once i'm out of school, working again, and not terrified of my school loans anymore.

according to the link up there it's a limited release from Sept - Dec of this year. I'm *hoping* that regular stores like Best Buy will carry the items.

I'll keep you updated on anything I find out though - if I'm going to a midnight madness I want all my Star Wars peeps with me to fangirl/boy over it while we wait. :)

HA! at least I didn't fall for laser disc.

And some of these were necessary repurchases. I mean, BETA? FULLSCREEN? had to buy the VHS widescreen.

Remastered? Of course i need that (that was at least 10 years later so it was a good purchase, my other tapes were getting worn down)

DVD - well of course! only makes sense.

Of course, if dumbass Lucas had LISTENED to the fans, this could all have been avoided, as when he released the first special edition set we ALL said "um...so when will the regular version be available?"

But I'd still smack him over the head if I met him. Just on general principal.
