someone returned the 'Seinfeld Script Book' with a bit of water/coffee damage. One of the librarians pulled it and took it out of the collection because of this.

guess who went dumpster diving after that?

Seriously, the damage isn't that bad, just looks like they might have spilled a drink near by cuz it's just the back corner. But now it's MINE MINE MINE! I can just flip it open and get classic lines (from season 1-2) of Seinfeld goodness!!!

*flips*

George: She calls me up at my office she says, "We have to talk."
Jerry: The four worst words in the English language.
George: Right after "Whose bra is this?"

It's getting ridiculous here, since I'm also in charge of donations, I get to sort thru all sorts of goodies and if we don't want to add them, I end up snatching them up haha. I need another bookshelf! (and probably another room)

Most gift books I've seen over the years were crap (yeah, that 15 year old travel book would be perfect for the collection... an astronomy text from 1957? Sure, we'd love to have that one), but sometimes, there were some real gems.

oh yeah, I hear you, along with the 30 year old encyclopedia's ("I thought it would be something the library could use." "um...we don't really need a map of the USSR right now, but thanks") last week I got 3 boxes of children's board books that someone was tossing out, several of which looked like they had been chewed on. And before that someone brought in a few boxes that I'm pretty sure their cat peed on at one point because they reeked. Big time.

I have this comic printed out and placed next to my donations table (http://www.overduemedia.com/archive.aspx?strip=20060130) along with this one (http://www.overduemedia.com/archive.aspx?strip=20060131), which about sums it all up.
