Guess I should go ahead and order this now :)

We saw 'Pulse' yesterday. Wow. I mean, I knew it was going to be bad, but I wasn't prepared for how bad it was. Actually, "bad" is too good for it. It was lame. Let's put it this way - I wasn't even scared. Me! I was freaking out just seeing the website load, and it turns out there's nothing scary in the movie! They didn't even have a cheap "GOTCHA!" moment where someone bumps into a chair or a cat jumps out or something! Heck, they didn't even remember to bring along a little Japanese girl with her black hair combed over her face and just have her stand in the corner. That would have freaked me out.

If it wasn't for the hotness that is Kristen Bell and Ian Somerholder, I doubt I would have survived. It had so many thing wrong with it, I can't even BEGIN to describe it. And, on the drive to get sushi, [livejournal.com profile] blu_harvest, [livejournal.com profile] simontrueheart, and I thought of at least 5 ways they could have improved the script. Seriously, why dont' they let US read these things!

[livejournal.com profile] simontrueheart had just watched the original Japanese movie, which he said wasn't that good, but at least it made a teensy bit more sense than the American one.

We also decided, that when we make our horror movie someday, we're going to hire people to run around the theater once the lights go out, just to freak everyone out. A girl got up right when the movie started, I think to use the restroom as she ran out and ran back. Anyway, that was the scariest thing that happened in the theater. The movie was laughable. I kept trying to psych myself up for a scare and then it was like a big flatline...

Yeah, avoid that one.

screw Pulse, has anyone else seen the motherf**king Snakes on the motherf**king Plane?? I just got back from seeing it. Lots of fun, although so much of it is driven by the hype and the excitement of the audience more than the actual movie. The 5 guys in front of us were on their 5th showing, and they all had large inflatable snakes that they threw into the air at all the right moments. I guess there's a script of responses floating around too which the guys also had, ie, this film is getting Rocky Horror-ed already.

Honestly, since it's all about the hype, this is the weekend to see it. As a film, it's not quite bad enough to be campy, and not quite good enough to be good. It's fun, though, and Samuel L. Jackson is the man!
