Well, I've read six books my Christopher Moore now, and I have to say the one I finished last night is my least favorite so far. I know what you're thinking - "Sam, how can I book with the title 'Island of the Sequined Love Nun' be bad?" Well, let me tell you, of all the books so far it was definately the must unfocused and the one most in need of an editor. Just did not flow like the other tales. And did not have as many laugh-out-loud or even chuckel-inducing moments that the other 5 have.

So, I shall rank what I have read so far -

#1 A Dirty Job
#2 Stupidest Angel
#3 Lamb - The Gospel According to Christ's Childhood Pal, Biff
#4 The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove
#5 Practical Demonkeeping
#6 Island of the Sequined Love Nun

I still have a few more left to read - Fluke, Bloodsucking Fiends, and Coyote Blue. We'll see if the rankings change any after those.

I have read.... Stupidest Angel, Lamb, and Bloodsucking Fiends.

I liked all of them. Supposedly there is a sequel coming out to Bloodsucking Fiends? If anything I am looking forward to that, and tempted to read some of the others since Stupidest Angel kind of brought the characters together at least in part.

Lamb was first though, and has a special place. :D

Dirty Job was fantastic! I just started 'Bloodsucking Fiends' last night and the "Emperor" that is in the beginning of that book is in 'A Dirty Job'! I loved that, it's like finding an old friend.

'Practical Demonkeeping' and 'The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove' are the other two Pine Cove novels, so a lot of the people from Stupidest Angel are in those. And Tuck & Roberto are in 'Love Nun', though I prefer the Tuck of Stupidest Angel.

I really liked Coyote Blue. Ummm I must confess I only skimmed Demonkeeping and love nun. I am shamefull. Bloodsucking fiends is cool. ( There's a bit at the end which disturbed me a bit... I'm fairly certain you'll know it when you come to it. Have you read Bradley Denton? Christopher moore's stuff kind of reminds me of the two books I have read of read of Denton's, "Lunatics" and "Buddy Holly is alive and well on Ganymede."

Don't know who Bradley Denton is but I'll add him to my reading list. :) You should really pick up 'a dirty job', it's so funny. I have a hold on 'Coyote Blue' but there's only one copy in the whole system! :(

I'm only on chapter 5 of 'fiends' and it's already not at all what I expected. But that's usually how most of his novels start for me, with a "WTF?" and then a "O Rly?"

I've enjoyed them all, but Love Nun definately had more downtime than the others. There were large chunks in the middle I think he could have worked better. Plus, I wanted more Roberto!!! (He no like the light)

Moore is definately going on my top 10 authors list.

I hope you like 'Dirty Job'! Let me know what you think when you're finished!
