orangerfulWell, so far this has been a week of quality TV
'Heroes' has really hit it's stride. Finally, the characters are learning to control their powers. And this weeks flashbacks, giving us insight into Mr Bennet, Claire, Hiro, and Mr. Nakamura, Doctor Who (okay, I cannot remember the characters name!) - just good times. The DVR was made for 'Heroes' - I dont' think I would have survived having to watch all those commericials.
So, how much of Mr Bennett's memory will be left next week? I suppose the Haitian really only needs to go back to when HRG realized that Claire had special abilities. But when did he know? Was it really only within the past few months or did he drop Claire as a baby and realize it?
The scene between Parkman, Mr Bennett, and Claire when Ted was first starting to go bonkers was fantastic! "Shoot Claire!" "Shoot me!" I felt so bad for Parkman - he had no idea that Ted was quite so unstable.
I won't say it was the most original story (how many tales of reluctant parent growing to love their adopted child?) but I thought it was well written and well acted. I did tear up a bit when Claire said goodbye to her dad. But where will she go?
Oooh I'm excited about next week's episode, though we know it will be a cliff hanger, since there's a long break and then sweeps week.
'Veronica Mars' ended the second mystery well too. We had always suspected the T.A., but how could you not! Any new cast member is always a suspect. There were enough red herrings to keep me guessing though, even though I was almost positive it was him, all the little bits of evidence that would surface on Landry or the wife would confuse me for a moment.
I'm really happy with the handling of the Parker/Logan thing. I was worried it would devolve into high school yelling and screaming. But to have Parker realize that the relationship would damage her friendship with Veronica and have her approach Veronica was impressive. And for Logan to also take action was also a relief. I was afraid he might get bitter or mopey again.
And I have to say, Parker was clearly a good influence. Logan was going to class and trying to impress her. Even if they don't work out as a couple, I think it's nice that Logan is making a friend.
I think we saw little hints of what might come of the Keith-as-Sheriff scenario. Veronica sneaking files and evidence out of the Sheriff's office might not be so easy, and when Keith discovers her with either of those things, she might actually get punished. Or at least scolded by someone she cares about.
Seeing Keith raid the boat with the other cops made me wonder if that was part of the reason to make him Sheriff, if only for a short while. The tension was high, because, as![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
jimithingy commented, I liked it more when I was worried about Lamb getting shot and not Keith. But Keith survived. And he mentioned the special elections so he probably won't be sheriff for long.
I'm curious about what the 3rd mystery will be since we didn't get any setup at the end of the episode!

Date: 2007-03-01 08:54 pm (UTC)Third mystery for VM would be interesting. I kinda hope that Keith gets sheriff again, because he's busted so many mysteries when compared to Lamb. I like L/V together, but I just think they need some time apart, because they keep... "sparking" the wrong things.
