[livejournal.com profile] jimithingy and I were kicked out of the apartment this morning around 9am so they could start patching up the ceiling. The first place we hit was the Wal-Mart by Arundel Mills. They must have just re-stocked the Star Wars isle because I found ALL of the Galactic Heroes I needed, PLUS three Unleashed Battle Packs!!

I'm trying to decide if I should open the figures yet, since the apartment is still not finished. We got back a little after 4pm and the guys were gone but there are still a few holes in the ceiling.

To kill some time, we saw "The Number 23" at Muvico. It was okay. Not horrible but not fantastic. A little red flag went up when we saw that Joel "Batman Forever" Schumacer (sp!) was the director. I thought Jim Carrey did a good job though. It made me want to see him act in a noir-style detective movie...a GOOD noir style detective movie. He's really starting to look old. There's a couple flashback sequences in the film, and he's supposed to be his 23 year old self, but he's just too wrinkly to pull that off, it was sort of funny.

I made the mistake of taking a nap when we got home because I was so tired. And I slept for 2+ hours and now I can't shake that damn groggy feeling. Which is usually why I don't take naps, but this week has just been so frakkin' long!

I'm leaving work early tomorrow so I can go to the DCSWCC meeting. Finally getting my Republic Commando figures, and one other GH that someone picked up for me awhile ago. Aaaaand maybe some Buffy figures. Depends on if I can get a good deal...

okay, I'm going to try and wake up so I can go back to sleep in 4-5 hours. :P

DON'T OPEN IT YET! Hope I got to you in time. I would wait until the repair job is over, because like they say, you really never know...

As for the nap? I know how you feel. ♥

Have you ever seen Goodfellas? There's a moment in that film, where Lorraine Bracco is narrating, and she says, "How could a 21-year-old guy have so much power," or something, you're thinking, "Ray Liotta was supposed to be 21 all this time?

He was 36 when he made the movie. Not so bad, but still, suspension of disbelief in that moment, because he doesn't look 21.

LOL! you make it sound like it's an explosive device haha. But I think you're right, best to wait so they don't get lost in the shuffle. I have enough toys rolling around in the chaos now. (Plus, I know I sent a list of stuff I needed to my mom before my birthday, so its probably safer to wait in case she bought any of them as a gift).

I took a nice long hot shower so I'm feeling a bit better now. Naps are so weird.

haha yeah, that can sort of pull you out of the film for a bit...

also, why is it in flashbacks to someone's youth, they big marker is a dumb haircut? Especially if it's a guy, it's this bowl-cut (like Jack in 'Lost')? Is that just the easiest wig to put on a male actor's head without making him cut his hair??

For girls, the flashback hair is usually very straight and long OR big and poofy - I guess depending on the characters current hair cut. (how would we know she was younger if her hair is poofy now AND poofy then??!!)

I don't think the audience in general looks that closely. I think all we see is a drastic visual clue, which we need. Otherwise, we're confused, because they don't always tell us it's a flashback. The Constant Gardener does that, and it's awful.
