when is a box not a box?
May. 18th, 2007 12:08 amI am SURROUNDED by boxes. Big ones, little ones, full ones, empty ones. It's a frakkin' obstacle course to get anywhere in here right now. I may have to take a picture and post it before we take down the computers tomorrow.
I have to say THANK YOU to
heiland_coo. I had my "Graphic Novels for Grown-Ups" program today, and I had a bad feeling no one would show up. Usually I get questions about my programs, but no one ever said anything about this. So when 7:10 rolled around tonight and no one was in the room, I wasn't totally shocked. But
heiland_coo was nice enough to sneak away from the desk and let me run thru the program so I could at least say I did it. And considering she's heard me ramble on about comic books on several other occasions, she was very brave to come sit in that room all by her lonesome hehe.
Also, congrats to both
maybemanda and
spitefairy - they both got engaged today (erm, not to each other)!
I felt that 'The Office' tonight was AWESOME! I didn't realize it was an hour until I was fast forwarding thru commercials and noticed I was at the 27 minute mark and only half way to the end!
OMG so what is going to happen with Jim & Pam??? I'll admit it - I was tearing up a bit when I realized that Jim was driving back to Scranton. But Karen will be back at the office too? Yikes, that could get messy! And did they just turn her into a total bitch so we wouldn't feel so bad about Jim leaving her? That felt sort of forced, but then again, she hadn't considered Pam a threat until the speech on the beach.
Poor Michael. He's so clueless. The look of horror on his face when Jan was talking about the painkillers she's on and her mood swings.
And the look on Ryan's face when he got the phone call??? Priceless! I love Creed's "blog" too hahahaha.
GODS I LOVE THIS SHOW! It's like Scrubs - a fantastic mix of comedy and real life drama!
Oh, and what was that crap movie that Jim is in? What a waste of his talent! Mandy Moore? ew. Robin Williams? ew. John Krasinski is so talented, ugh. Maybe he just wanted to meet Robin Williams or something. I hope so. God, that commercial made me cringe.
'Veronica Mars' is officially canceled now. I think the CW is making a huge mistake, since they really don't have a whole lot else going for them right now. One quality show does not a network make. Oh well. At least I can look forward to 'Fanboys' (which has apparently been pushed back to a January release date??? WTFrak!)

Date: 2007-05-26 06:00 pm (UTC)Here's why I think Karen is actually in a tough spot and has been pretty cool:
- She moved to Scranton without being given an essential fact that she should have had when making the decision. Maybe (in fact probably) the move was more her idea than Jim's- we never really heard their conversation about it and in fact don't even know if they officially got together before or after the move (do we?)- but since she and Jim were both going to be working with Pam, Jim should have told her before the move.
- Worse, she learns about Pam not from Jim, but from Phyllis, so she realizes that she is the only one in the office who isn't aware of the situation, which probably makes her feel like a fool, among other things.
- She is assured by both Jim and Pam that everything is "cool" now, so it becomes her problem if she's jealous, when, lets face it, she *should* be jealous because Jim and Pam are NOT over each other.
- Pam is not self aware enough to realize it, and I don't think she intended it this way, but her campfire speech was a direct attack on Jim/Karen. For one thing "I called off my wedding for you" is a huge admission, even if she followed it with "But that's cool" or whatever she said. And "I miss the way things were" means way more than just that she misses clowning around with Jim. Again, I don't think she's aware of it, but what she also misses is the big crush Jim had on her and all the attention he gave her.
- When Karen was nice enough to let Pam off the hook in the break room afterwards, Pam counters with "Oh I meant everything I said." At this point, I don't blame Karen for using the word "bitch"!
- I like how Karen is being direct with Jim about the whole thing, how she was like "You heard what Pam said, this is a problem." And Jim is ducking the whole thing.
So anyway, I say RUN Karen, RUN. There are other jobs in NYC, and other men. RUN! Not that I don't like both Jim and Pam, but I think Karen has been more than understanding and it's just time to split.
Now watch.. they'll make her into a total bitch next season, making me have to take all this back.
As for Michael, that was just a riot. Poor guy, done in by fake boobs. Now I'm wondering what the actress looked like before this. Did she always have a jacket on, so it wasn't so obvious? Or did they use a special bra, or prosthetic boobs (like a type of fat suit?). Or maybe she really got a boob job? I'll be looking closely at her during the summer repeats..

Date: 2007-05-26 11:13 pm (UTC)I agree though, RUN KAREN RUN is right. Jim really has not appreciated her and since everyone is rooting for Jim/Pam, no one really cares how he treats Karen because we really want Jim and Pam together.
Good point about Pam too. The she's becoming more and more aware but she's not there yet. She keeps trying to be honest with herself, and stronger than she was, but at the same time, she's sort of not paying attention to what she's saying.
I'm hoping the Office writers (and the Scrubs writers) don't take either show down that easy road of "let's met the sig other a total ass so we can hook up these other two". They seem smarter than that. It's hard to tell with TV though...*glares at LOST*
