Woo and hoo - I got an A in my Stats class! 90%! PWND! *dances*

That was really the only class I was concerned about. The other two should be okay as long as I didn't totally FUBAR the final papers. Which I don't think I did!!

I was a reading FOOL last night. I finished off The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, which was a great read! Reminded me a bit of King Dork in its not pulling any punches and very realistic teenage characters. It just won the National Book Award!

Then I read Chicken with Plums by Marjane Satrapi. I had forgotten I had this book checked out, it was buried under a pile of YA titles! But it was a quick read, being a graphic novel. An odd little story of a man that is so broken hearted that he decides to die and just lies in bed waiting. Not as good as Persepolis or Embroideries but I like her style so I enjoyed it.

I wasn't quite ready to sleep yet, so I pulled out Robot Dreams which I had heard about via [livejournal.com profile] westerblog. It has absolutely no "spoken" text. It's all pictures. It's cataloged as children's in our library but it has a story that is...mature in a sense. I mean, a kid could read and enjoy it, but I think they could pick it up again as an adult and enjoy it to! Quite a surprise!

And my copy of No Future For You IV (or BtVS s8 #9) FINALLY arrived yesterday too. Kick-ass ending to the BKV arc. Now I want my Angel #1 to arrive!!!

I'm up to book 3 in the Georgia Nicholson Confessions series. I have to agree with [livejournal.com profile] jellibean and [livejournal.com profile] heiland_coo, these books are SO FUN! I've been reading them on break while at work and they are just perfect for that!

I still have a bookmark in The Other Boleyn Girl. After spending most of this year reading Young Adult books, I realize that "grown-up" books are very long! haha. So I read the equivalent of a YA book in pages, then got bored and switched to something else. I'll pick it up again soon, though I did put my name on the Book on CD list. Perhaps it would be an easier story to listen to...has anyone else on here read it yet?

Speaking of bookmarks - I also have one in An Arsonist's Guide to Writer's Homes in New England, which started out strong. I just got distracted!

I have so many books checked out right now! And Christmas is soon and I know I have a BUNCH of books on my list, mostly Whedon related, which I will want to read right away! AH!

...and why do I still not have a "reading" or "bookish" icon???!! tsk tsk.
