I just spent about 4 hours playing 'Bioshock'.

WOW! This game starts and does not stop. It is intense, but the story is so good that you want to keep going, keep finding the little diary recordings lying around so you can listen to this utopia fall apart.

This game is really smart. It's not just a shoot em up (though those are fun too!). You get to shoot things AND zap them with electricity AND set them on fire AND use telekinesis to throw objects. You use "Adam" and "Eve" to recharge your plasmid powers. There are these creepy ass little girls wandering around with glowy eyes. They are protected by Big Daddies (the big monster on the box cover). If you can destroy the Big Daddies, you can either "rescue" the little girls, freeing them from their glowy eye'd syndrome and letting them roam free while getting a little bit of Adam, OR you can "harvest" them, sucking out every last drop of Adam they have and reducing them to nothing. bwhahahhaha. Your little helper friend Atlas tells you to kill them for their own good, but there's some crazy German doctor running around that says I should not kill them and she will make it worth my while.

The sound on the game is good, you can hear the crazy people mumbling to themselves (Splicers are the citizens of Rapture, they have overdosed on the "Eve" and "Adam" to the point of insanity). But it's like Silent Hill - yeah I'm scared and freaked out, but the story is so clever and layered, I can't stop playing! And you can save whenever you want to, so that is nice. Oooh yes, this game is going to take up some time.

I wish the snow/ice storm would actually happen. I would love to have some days off to just play this game.

So I really liked Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" What do you think about all the Objectivist stuff in Bioshock?

Joe showed me the demo on either PS3 or XBOX, and it freaked me out but looked so cool and so well-done. I sort-of want him to get it though, cause I would absolutely love watching it. Playing it though? Probably not so much; the turrets and escape portion of "Portal" freaked me out--BioShock would probably kill me. LOL

Looks like you got your wish with that snow storm! I heard AA closed at 1 today, lucky! HC hasn't even considered it yet, and it's almost 3 :(

Anyway, enjoy your snow day!!

Our new L1 started, her name is Heather Leonard. Ring any bells? We stole her from HC. She was laughing on the way out yesterday, saying she knew HC would never close for the little snow we had!

I don't know many people outside of our tiny branch, so the name doesn't sound familiar. I wonder which branch she worked at?

It's true though, HC is terrible about closing. They finally decided it was a good idea around 4:15 to close at 5. Meanwhile, it took me over an hour just to get to work at 1. Rt. 1 was a disaster, every couple feet there was a car that was stuck, and one head on collision. But you know, information services are vital to the citizens of HC, or so we're told. Apparently we're right up there with firemen and doctors!

In case you can't tell, I was a little annoyed with Admin yesterday, lol.

I've never read any Ayn Rand. Somehow dodged the "Anthem" bullet in high school and have just never bothered to pick up any of her other stuff. Though now I sort of wish I had because the game is probably making all kinds of comments/jokes that are going over my head!
