Battlestar Galactica 4.01 - My thoughts

orangerfulAck! I better write something before this Friday rolls around! Where to start, where to start...
I love Sam. I didn't at first. When we met him in season 2 I was all "WUT NO STARBUK/APOLLO 4 EVAR!11!!", but he sorta grew on me. He is just a good guy and he truly loves Kara with all his heart and soul. Rewatching season 3, that scene where he is on top of the Viper, stumbling around drunk...breaks my heart. So to see him trying his hardest to fly that Viper, and then the shock of seeing his wife again. And then Kara had to say she would shoot him in the head if he was a Cylon. Well, I think if you slow down the show right there you can see when his heart breaks right in two. :\
I knew the Tigh shooting Adama scene was a dream, but something about how it was shot, perhaps the fact that Mary McDonnell acted her ASS off with the hysterics, I had a moment of "oh shit, maybe this is real!" but then they went back to Tigh and I was like "oh thank the gods"
That space battle was so FUN! What a way to start a show and a season!
Gaius. Oh Gaius. The eye rolls, the "WTF?" looks to the side, the sheer "oh these ladies are crazy I gotta get outta...I can touch your boobs?!" of it all. I can't wait to see where that is going. The scene in the bathroom was great, especially when that chick went crazy with the pipe. These ladies are not all there but they can still cause problems.
My favorite moment? When Chief is showing Starbuck's Viper to Adama, Roslin, and Lee. He is talking with them and Lee is silent for the most part. But if you watch him, he is ACTING HIS ASS OFF (a common theme with this cast). He has two moments where you looks like he's going to either start screaming at them all or start bawling his eyes out, yet he is not making any noise so you can easily miss it. I loved it.
And now he's going to be a politician???? Crazy. I will miss Pilot!Lee, but if Civvy!Lee is going to keep wearing those tight sweaters, he is welcome here.
And Roslin is bunking with the Admiral huh? nudge nudge wink wink say no MOAR! (I know nothing has happened but you know he probably just watches her sleep every night in a creepy yet sexy way).
Also, I understand why Roslin and Gaeta were all so cranky - Gaius would have only been found "not guilty" a couple of hours earlier. I'm still pissed at Gaeta for committing purgery. Seriously, if they all hadn't gotten so greedy during that trial, if they had actually accused Gaius of things he did instead of the things they felt bad for, he would have been guilty. Ah well.
This episode was mostly about the Final 4 and Starbuck's return. I can't wait to see more of the rest of the crew in the upcoming weeks. I wish this could have been a 2 hour premiere. But alas.
I'm sure I have more to say, that is just what I remember right now.

Awww, there's nothing creepy about the old man!
Meh. I hated that Roslin was so quick to trust Starbuck to get the Arrow of Apollo but so suspicious of her now. I mean, it makes sense, but it's still irritating. I kind of want Starbuck to melee her this week. (And I love Roslin. I finally got my Roslin/Airlock shirt, btw. It rocks.)
