orangerfulI was just flipping through the TV channels and TNT was running the X Files. It's the Pilot episode, one I know all too well as I put it on cassette tape in the heyday of my X Files phandom and listened to it on the way to school every morning in my walkman.
So get this - they put the commercials in the wrong place. Why oh why would you move the commercials around when a show is made with commercial breaks in it already. The commercials were supposed to be in the wooded sequence, when we think Scully has found an alien, but when you come back from break, you see it's just a creepy old dude. Instead they deleted that commercial break and stuck one in the highly tense moment of Scully thinking she found alien marks on her back.
I know that any normal person wouldn't have noticed that but I obsessed over this show for so long. And these script writers have to make these shows work to accomodate those dumb commercials and to rearrange the breaks screws up the flow of the episode.
It's just silly.
I'm gonna go put books away for 3 hours.
