spoilers under the cut for the mid-season finale. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!



Wow, the BSG writers did it again. They completely threw me. In my brain, I had decided that the fifth cylon would be revealed and the next season would continue the trip to Earth, perhaps ending the episode with them starting to jump to Earth. I was way off! Again, I have to say how great it is to be totally caught off guard by a show and still love it.

But where will it go from here? What will they all do on this ruined Earth? I assume it is our Earth. That we destroyed it. Nuclear war. Honestly, I'm so thrown. This is not at all what I expected to find.

I'm speechless. I'm trying to process everything I just saw and I don't know where to begin. I'll just do a rundown of my initial reactions:

- The episode was great. Having bumped off so many people on this show, I was not sure what to expect when Lee put Tigh into that airlock. I really thought that would be it.

- Tori has clearly never heard about burning bridges. Hope she enjoys life on the Basestar.

- I have to agree with jellibean, if I'd known Lee was going to do a little strip dance when they found Earth, I would have been wanting it even more! lol!

- They don't have any prosthetic limbs on BSG? I was surprised to see Gaeta legless. I've always had a little 'ship in my head with him and Dualla. Maybe they will hook up on Earth.

- I'm a tad worried about the Centurions now. Rewatching the first episodes of this season, where they have their inhibitor chips removed, and then Gaius started preaching at the one in the hall...will they start their own rebellion once on Earth?

- Kara and Sam. What is going to happen now? She said if she found out he was a Cylon she would shoot him. Now she knows. What will they do?

- Earth is frakked!!!!! Will they stay? Go? Find more clues left behind by the 12th Colony? Spend the next season doing Extreme Makeover: EARTH Edition? WHAT!

- Tigh's confession to Adama was well done. Adama's reaction even better (as always, the cast acts their asses of even though no Emmy will ever be awarded to a Sci-Fi show)

- I kept worrying that Laura was gonna drop dead before she said "Take us to Earth". Also, when she walked in behind Adama at the end, did anyone else have a moment where they thought she might be imagined (ala Gaius' Six?). I was afraid Adama had gone bye-bye.

- As I said before, I just rewatched the first and second episode of this season again last night, and they have a whole scene with Starbuck's Viper so it was cool that it all came back to her ship tonight.

AH! WHAT WILL THEY DO!?! SIX MONTHS!?! WHY?!?

I'm so listening to Ronald Moore's podcast for this episode! I hope he can get it on the site soon.

I wonder how long until Season 4 comes out on DVD? Did they say whether they would do a 4 and 4.5 release or if they are going to hold out until the show is completely done. Hopefully my DVR will not randomly delete episodes any time soon!

I hate Tori. I hope Chief finds out that she killed Cally and he bludgeons her to death. Or something.

I wonder how long it's going to take the Cylons to realize that Nicky is a toaster baby. Of course, he could probably kill them all with his bare hands, so maybe it's best that they're leaving him alone. ;D

Maybe the Cylons and Humans are going to have to fight the Centurions together...

Yeah, I was never overly fond of her, but now that she's gone all Faith on us, I'd like her to meet an untimely end (and the way she is behaving, I would not be surprised if Galen shoots her out an airlock).
