retail therapy session #08.29.08

orangerfulJust got back from our little shopping excursion. We left around noon, went to Arundel Mills to drop off my claddaugh ring at the jewelry repair place. The band had split the other day and needed to be patched up. They were busy and said it wouldn't be done until 4pm. We said that was fine.
Then we went to the IKEA in College Park. AD had made a list. We sorta stuck to that list...until he revealed to me that he liked red! See, we were looking at couches, and our couch is on its last legs (or cushions, there are two gaping holes in the left side. Though, the couch is probably 10+ years old and has been through several dorms and apartments). Anyway, they had this bright red couch at IKEA and I thought it looked cool and AD said that he thought it would be spiffy to have a modern apartment done out in red, white, and black. So we got the things on the list - new bath towels (red), cutting boards (red), and then a few other things - chair cushion (red), hand towels (black), measuring cups (red), and a BENNO CD/bookshelf thing (also red) which will soon be the new home of some of my Galactic Heroes (and YES it fit in my MINI! w00t!). Took a break to grab some Swedish Meatballs, which were actually quite yummy!
Then we hit up Kohls, which I had $10 Kohls cash for...and I bought $180 worth of stuff. Now, a few things I did grab and decide to try on at home, since the Kohls is literally 3 minutes away, returns are not an issue. But still. Got a dustbuster - was were on the list - and some pants...which were sorta on the list.
Hit up Target too and found a little rug (red) for the kitties to play with and new placemats (red, and machine washable!).
So, all in all, a very productive day. Lots of sales and such. Good times.
Now where the heck am I gonna put this new bookshelf...
