So, after my big long post about Silent Hill last night, I turn around and watch the next episode of Supernatural this morning, and what episode am I up to -- Asylum. Turns out this is this most Silent Hill-esque episode so far! Creepy hospital, freaky looking ghosts, and really dark lighting! I was actually scared!

So, I think I found the episode that I will refer back to one day, when someone says "Which episode got you hooked?". I enjoyed Home because it gave us a bit more on the Sam & Dean backstory, but Asylum had character development and it actually had me spooked. I'm so happy I watched it at 11am instead of 11pm - it was that creepy.

...then again, I am a total wuss! haha. But still, if they ever want to make a Supernatural video game, they should just find the Silent Hill code and insert Sam & Dean into it...

And from what I'm hearing, at least in the non-spoilery capacity of above the cut comments on my flist, the show manages to survive several years without taking an X-Files like downward spiral, yes? No butt genies in the SPN future? Please say there are no butt genies....

lol butt genies.

Asylum was a really good episode. :D
Just like with any show there are those episodes that I would leave and never watch again (and wonder what the point was), but those tend to be few and far between with SPN even now.

Good to know! I'm looking forward to watching the rest of this disc, so that's a good sign. :)

lol @ your icon (mostly because AD was just playing Fable II and having unprotected sex with all the townspeople - that game is weird)

Need I remind you that there was an XF episode called "Home"? (it was the first one I saw too- and I came back for more!)

ah yes, that's the one where Scully does her 'Babe' impersonation? haha. "Tooms" was the first episode I saw that got me hooked. Are you watching 'Fringe' at all? Someone in my star wars club was describing it to me and it sounded like our kind of show. He said the closest thing he could compare it to would be XF but sans aliens, more supernatural weirdness. I'm going to put the DVDs on my netflix list for later.

No, I haven't seen Fringe. Maybe I'll check it out. I can't keep too many plots in my head at once, though, and I (still!) need to catch up on BSG, and I'm going to stick with Dollhouse for a while, even though it means giving up Supernanny :-P

Update on my XF unpacking angst.. I put the episode guides in my recycling pile after looking through them one last time. They really aren't very good- just over-long plot synopses followed by "backstory" that basically lists everything that went wrong with the episode, usually plot or makeup glitches. Ho hum. But then I opened a box and found all my lovingly collected XF cover-story mags. Do I recycle them too?? Such a dilemma.. Fortunately I have that crappy movie this summer to keep me from full-blown XF nostalgia.

What?! You need to catch up on BSG! There are only 5 episodes left and then you know spoilers will fly!

I think I still have all of the X-Files magazines I collected...I'm not sure what to do with them. I spent so much time hunting them down...maybe there is one insane X Files fan left out there I can give them to...
