ok i have a dumb question.... could you explain to me how twitter works? i keep hearing about it but dont really get it. thanks :)

it's not a dumb question! Twitter is hard to explain because, like a blog, it only works when you have other people to read/comment on your posts. Twitter is called "micro-blogging" and the idea is you have to say what you want to say in 150 characters or less. The biggest thing is that you can send updates to Twitter from your computer OR phone. So lots of people will send random updates throughout the day.

I have my twitter posts imported to my Livejournal because sometimes I twitter about stuff that I don't bother blogging about. I have TwitterFox installed into my Firefox browser so I get a little pop-up anytime one of my friends posts.

If you have a bunch of friends already twittering (or "fake-friends" as I like to call all the celebrities I have on my list - Felicia Day, Neil Gaiman, Stephen Fry, etc) than it's easy to get hooked.

I also set up a thing using GoodReads that automatically sends any books I add to my reading list to Twitter. So that's why I have 4 tweets about reading...I was updating my goodreads at work lol!

Does that make any sense?
