Okay, that's it, I'm going to start posting to my Dreamwidth account dammit! I told myself I would use that blog space as a writing journal, try to get back into the habit of storytelling, using my imagination...and what have I done so far?

Nothing. Nada. Zip. A couple of test posts and that is it. Yeah, I've bookmarked lots of websites with writing prompts and stuff, but they just don't do it for me.

So, any of you want to help me out?? Post here with some writing prompts. Give me a first line. Give me a bit of dialogue. Give me an object. Give me a character or a situation.

I know I have a lot of talented writers on my flist, so I wanted to use your collective brain to get my lazy ass brain to scribble...er, type...something!

Pretty please. :D

LOL... you asked!

Four year old Timothy Waters was having a very bad day: he accidentally stepped on the petrified remains of an everlasting gobstopper from the 1960s and now the universe was being sucked into a miniature black hole in his left pants pocket.

What's a boy to do?

I'm suffering through a smidge of writer's block myself, so I don't know how much help I'll be, but I totally added you on Dreamwidth anyways. ;)

What sometimes helps me is if I just write a piece of something, rather than aiming for a whole (which can be stymieing in and of itself..), like, just invent a character and start 'em in the middle of something. Running away from something, as a for instance. No beginning. No explanation. No introductions. Just. BOOM! in the middle of things. Not necessarily the best way to a finished work, but it can get you in the swing of things. (Or so I tell myself as I fritter away the hours writing on the board, anyways. :P)

Some stuff to pick and choose from....

#1--I've written something to this...it was a statement made by a guy I worked with on a boring day when we were both sitting in the company store reading: "Sex is a good way to get rid of boredom."

#2--Same guy?: "I'm like a green-haired cowboy."

#3--An object?: Fake vampire fangs.

#4--"That was uncalled for."

#5--Zombie apocalypse while at Dragon*Con.
