eat. sleep. read. repeat.
Aug. 19th, 2009 12:09 amI should not take naps. Sunday night my schedule was still whack from vacation, and I didn't go to bed until 2am. Then I had to wake up for work at 7am. I was sort of groggy all day, but it was the worst on the ride home because I kept my windows rolled up since I was listning to an audiobook (The Case of the Bizarre Bouquets, if you were wondering). I actually started to doze off a bit while driving so when I got home at 6pm, I stumbled into the bedroom and told AD I was just going to close my eyes for a few minutes, thinking I'd wake up around 6:30-7pm.
Instead I fell into a deep sleep and had a weird dream about still being at work. Then I woke up enough that I noticed that the room was dark, and my brain went from REM mode to OMGWTFTIMEISIT!!!-mode and I jumped out of bed to find out I had slept until almost 9pm! To make it worse, I couldn't quite shake that groggy nap feeling. All I could think of is the little icon you get in Sims 3 if your Sim has a rude awakening by a noise/baby/burglar. AD ran out and got catfood and dinner-makings, so we ate dinner and watched Leverage, then I crawled back into bed because everything seemed too bright.
And that is why I do not take naps. I can never wake up afterwards.
It appears that loudtwitter is working again, or at least I noticed it while looking at my journal at work today. I was going to turn it off, but I'm thinking of leaving it on during Dragon*Con so those of you that are not on Twitter can see all my spazzy tweets that I'm sure to post while I'm there. I'll probably just have my iPhone posting will be at a minimum until I get home (unless the hotel wi-fi is free...)
I need to get my haircut. I have pictures ready to go and everything, just need to find the time. I'm thinking about Friday since I have off. I should probably call and make an appointment. I'm wondering if they will do pink highlights in my hair for me.
I have one icon left to make for
whedon20in20 so I'm going to do that when I get home tomorrow and then post the set. Not my best work ever, but there are def. a few icons that I am really happy with. It took me awhile to get back into the icon-making groove, so I think next month I will be ready to really get in there.
I'm currently reading "The Lovely Bones", which I've had on my bookshelf forever, but seeing the trailer for the Peter Jackson adaptation spurred me into actually reading it. I'm thinking I might try to do a book discussion for teens in January to tie in with the release of the movie.
I finished 'King of the Screwups' but haven't written up my thoughts on it yet, maybe because I found it enjoyable but not really good or really bad. No strong feelings either way.
As I mentioned above, I listened to an Enola Holmes mystery in the car yesterday and I finished that today. Next up - first book in the Percy Jackson series, another one that I've been meaning to read but didn't bother until now, because of the movie trailer. Plus, I've heard it is a good book to rec. to Harry Potter fans in need of a new hero.
