I wonder how many female writers they have on the show? I know fan reaction was pretty negative when Ruby first appeared (since I had people on my flist who were watching the show and got the vibe even in non-spoilery posts) but part of me wonders if they are just really uncomfortable writing female characters and panic when anyone criticizes them (unlike other shows where they just keep writing them anyway, no matter how poorly they are done *coughlostcough*).
It probably wouldn't be so frustrating if we hadn't had such decent characters like the bartender lady and Sam's two flings who were relatively well written and interesting. Someone used to be able to write women (maybe they are gone now?)
And the thing for me, even though I'm not a fan of "romance" entertainment, I do think that it would be nice for the boys to have some love interests, not just sex partners. I mean, they are getting old! LOL!
And on another note, honestly, how is Bobby still alive? He is the only Gandalf/Obi-Wan character I've ever seen survive this long! Every season I think he'll be dead. But no, he's fine.
