but we all know it wouldn't last.
Just got back from trading in our Xmas doubles. Adrian didn't believe that you could return something without a receipt, but I know...oh I know. Returned many a double in my time. So we got a new memory card for the gamecube (sports games take up too much space!) and a new controller for the Gamecube and the Xbox. I also snagged the new Star Wars Day-by-day calendar, as it was 50% off....
We watched The Two Towers extended edition dvd yesterday/today. The first half had a lot more stuff, the battle at Helms Deep (which takes up most of the second disc) didn't have too much extra except for the little bit with the trees eating the orcs, which was cool. Though it had a really weird edit that seemed a bit sloppy. I need to watch it with Actors commentary....probably have to wait until AD is back in school and needs to study....
We rented Castlevania, Prince of Persia, and Fatal Frame II. AD is into the Castlevania right now. Turns out it's a prequel to the original. I played a bit. I played more of Prince of Persia which I'm really liking. I thought it would be too confusing with all the buttons, but it's a lot of fun. I enjoy the "rewind" capability as I'm frequently falling off cliffs and stuff. I'm still too scared to play Fatal Frame II....AD has to sit with me...Game Informer said it's the scariest game ever. Which means I can only play it in the afternoon when the sun is up and shining in the window.
Made out like a bandit this xmas, as usual. Stuffed toys, dvds, boards games, cash, and minimal on the clothes. Just how i like it. AD got my a stuffed toy of Animal, Fozzie Bear, Cookie Monster, and Squirt (from Nemo). Plus the Yoda Backpack that I have been drooling over since last May. DVDs - Josie and the Pussycats and Firefly the complete series from AD. Mom got me Seabiscuit Special Edition (though she kept it to watch...I shall reclaim it tomorrow). She also got me the John Denver & The Muppets Rocky Mountain Holiday DVD, which is a TV special from the early 80s that I used to have on Beta and watched all the time....I watched it the other day and it's still as great as I remember.
Um....I got Adrian "Wayne's World: The Complete Epic"....he also got Two Towers (with Gollum statue). Alex and Jules got me the Memento Special Edition DVD....yum....and Doc and Susan got me X Files season 1 and Beatles Anthology on DVD. Niiiiiiiice. Oh, and my folks got Adrian the Lonney Tunes DVD set....can't go wrong with KILL THE WABBIT!
We got Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit (movie edition) which I'm already worried I know too much about hehe. Another movie board game calleld "Scene It" which I want to try....George and Kathy got us a 3 in 1 Chess/Checkers/Backgammon set which is quite nice.
Nice collection of coffee table books....Mom got me a Beatles black&white photo book, Doc got me a Beatles book that is probably out of print now which is very cool, also got me a Star Wars book on the making of Episode II....oh! and this really cool LOTR ROTK puzzle book which I haven't seen anywhere else but it's really neat-o.
oooooh what else....um....bits of jewelry...bit of clothes...new BtVS CD which isnt' as good as the first but enjoyable (at least it has the Sarah McLachlan track that was so hard to find)...oh and a remote control MINI! Probably as close as I'll get to owning a real one hehe.
I re-did my bulletin board yesterday. Not sure how I feel about it. Last time I was zany and had things all over...this time I have more straight lines...it sorta bugs me...but at least I got my new Angel and Smallville posters up. Plus a nice picture of Harry Potter, Hermione, and Ron from GQ two years ago. and Kyan....It's growing on me....I found my "Buffy Lives" magazine clipping which I put up. in the background...she's peaking over my name......
Vincent is coming over tomorrow to hang out. Now that we have 3 Nintendo controllers we're gonna try the double dash with 3 people. Should be cool.
I'm gonna go play with my toys now. :--)

SCARY VIDEO GAMES
Date: 2004-01-02 10:08 pm (UTC)old dungeons and dragons on intelevision was totally scary
whenever u'd get close to the dragon
u'd hear him growling
but there was no music
which made it all the creepier
so u had to advance slowly
knowing that ur thumb had to be on that side button to shoot them arrows once u got close enough for the dragon to pounce on u
those damn dragons came so incredibly fast
but u'd get close
then the dragon would pounce and be growling and it startled u
even though u knew it was coming
u still jumped
so u'd die
*sigh*
nothing today compares to that game
not ps2
nothing
(*all i got is ps2, so i cant really compare much*)
michael got me the new intelevision controller that u hook to ur tv to play the old games
25 in total
yet no dungeons and dragons
are you crazy?
that was a huge mistake on their part
hopefully a new one will come out with dungeons and dragons
that shit used to rock
